Jake's Boathouse has been a Brampton institution since 1979. Jake's is the home of great food and stimulating bar atmosphere, with a nautical twist. Jake's all day menu features a large selection of traditional favourites. Our group of friends visit Jake's Boathouse often, it has been a favorite gathering place to celebrate many occasions or just a casual night out with friends. Lately we have noticed prices have increased (not a huge surprise as this happens every where in every type of business). But what was truly disappointing was the new menu, everything seems to be deep fried and breaded. The lovely foods on the menu that were healthier I used to order had all been removed. There is only the option of 2 basic salads on the menu which sadly sound very unappealing. In today's society there are many people that have to be Gluten free and many people eating low carb foods. There is really nothing for these people to order at Jake's. I even asked about ordering the Wings unbreaded and that was a big issue....I was told I should have called in the day before coming to arrange that!!!! Lol. I was shocked and told them that I did not I wanted wings the day before! Our entire group has complained to the servers (which are lovely by the way) and to the new owners, about there not being enough variety and healthy choices on the menu. My reply directly was that I could order the Chicken Sandwhich as a healthy option - which is breaded and on bread....not sure how that is Gluten free, low carb or healthy??? So in a nut shell, a great place to get together for drinks, chat and laughs, maybe dance to sk.e great live entertainment, but sadly I can not recommend the food.

A little hard to find and the service was very slow... we were only 1 of 2 tables upon our arrival. NOT going to rush back anytime soon

I waited few minutes before someone acknowledged I was there. The place wasn’t even busy, it was half empty. The furniture and condition of the deco need some attention in general. The table covers (vinyl) are falling apart. The service (once I got sat ) was good. The lady was very attentive and always smiling. I heard her talking to other customers, she sounded very friendly and sweet. Food was ok. Menu is very small. I was expecting more fish and chicken options. I don’t really think I would get a good steak at a place like this, so didn’t that only have on steak entree. The prices are fair, I ended up eating fish and chips due to no more fish options besides salmon. Fish was really tasty, the onion rings looked like the ones you get in the frozen session at your local supermarket.

We had a new waitress and she was very understanding about our “lack of focus to order”...us gals hadn’t seen each other in over 20 years so we were a little distracted! She was a patient waitress who was very understanding of our situation and accommodated our needs very well!

Pretty dated and run down, the food is better than the service. The restaurant could use an overhaul and additional staff, our server was friendly but brought out the wrong entree and wasn’t very fast with refills.
