   Party of 2 for an early-ish Saturday date night. We were seated at a nicely private booth table near the bar. Ambiance in this building is very pleasant. Not too fancy, not too casual, not too loud, just right. Service was attentive and hit the right balance of friendly and professional. Very knowledgeable about the menu when asked for recommendations. We ordered the butter poached lobster and fried ribs small plates along with a beet salad. The butter poached lobster was outstanding and worth a try although I probably wouldn't order again due to price level relative to other items on the menu. The fried ribs were crispy and tasty but the novelty wore off after a few bites...better for a party of four. The beet salad is a well-balanced and flavorful star menu item and I would order this again and again. For mains, we split a ribeye burger and chicken fried steak. The burger was good and very juicy with good seasoning and char. A solid, but basic burger. The fries were incredibly underwhelming, limp, and very under-seasoned. The chicken fried steak was a nice cut of meat ruined by a couple factors. Soggy crust (even the parts not covered in gravy) and almost complete lack of seasoning. The gravy, potatoes, and green beans were good but couldn't make up for the disappointing centerpiece. In summary, I would rate service and ambiance among the best in the area but food quality was very inconsistent.

   We took our friends from Georgia and we all had a great time. The food was fantastic and our waiter, Dustin was the best we have had at J2. Highly recommend.

   The food is the best. Our salad was crisp. The steaks were perfectly cooked to order and very tasty.

   It was some of the best food I’ve had in Texas; I normally don’t try seafood but their lobster appetizer was amazing

    First time visit, didn't even know about them until Open Table. Was Highly impressed and shocked we hadn't heard of them. Great food, service, and super cool joint! Will book again!
