   Salads were slow coming and then the steaks arrived practically on top of the salads. Salads were good as were the steaks but they were cooling by the time we finished the salads. Otherwise it was a good experience.

   Food is good. But for some reason hostess wouldn’t sit us down. I understand our entire party is not there but the restaurant was empty on late Monday night. We were asked to sit at the bar if we wanted to order drinks or appetizers while we wait. Then I had to settle my bill at the bar before moving to the table 10 mins later.

   This is our favorite restaurant in the area and we always make a point to go there when in town. The steaks are fabulous, always cooked to perfection.

   Food was fantastic! Everything was cooked to the satisfaction of my family. A bit pricey, but all and all a great experience.

   Had a reservation for 6:45, got right in. My wife and I ordered dinner and where enjoying talking to each other not worrying about the time. Our waiter walks up and apologizes for our food being late and that desert would be on the restaurant. The manager comes up and makes the same apology and says the desert would be on the restaurant. To me the food was not that late and would not have thought anything about it. This is the kind of service this restaurant gives . I have never been disappointed. Terry

   J. Alexander’s is the only Restaurant in the Birmingham area that I have consistently NEVER had a problem with food or service!

    Great experience we will definitely be back !!! The food was excellent, our service was great! The salad was probably the best salad i have ever had, my steak was cooked well done and still had flavor and was seasoned perfectly.
