In all fairness re the food, we did not stay and eat, we left. We have been going to Itacho since it was in a strip mall on Highland and Santa Monica. It survived the first new owner but this (or these) more recent sales have done them in. Next to none of the famous Itacho dishes remain (the pork cooked for 2 day’s in sake and soy; the fried chicken; etc). Some of the favorite veg dishes remain (eggplant sweet miso, lotus root) but the photo covered “all you can eat sushi” menu pretty much says it all. I’m heartbroken. This was a favorite spot we used to take everyone before the advent of all of the izakaya spots. I’m not trying to do them in, just let those who are like me in on the news. #endofanera

Granted it was a heat-wavee, but everything was warm...the beer, the sushi. The sashimi and rolls had a good flavor despite the temp, but Uni was gross.

Good sushi but they confused our mark sheet up so we ended up having to send back 4 plates we didn't order!

We were the first ones to enter the restaurant and it had a very different smell but they explained it as the chemicals they used to mop the floor's. The salmon was open and the shrimp crunch roll was very good but since it was our first time the waitress did not spend a whole a lot of time explaining the ordering system. Everything was good and very yes we got the all you can eat specials. I quality of sushi was fresh but not the caliber of a Nobu or matsuhisa or sasabune. I probably would not return to this sushi bar but for people that want to have sushi at this quality then it's good.

Very disappointed. I have been coming to Itacho for years. Since it was located on Highland Avenue. I will not be back. All you can eat sushi...if only you can get a waitperson to serve you! The service was abysmal. Asked for a beer 3-4 times before anyone brought it. You write down your sushi order...and they still got it all wrong! The food was ok...but the entire experience was not a good one. We won't be back...

The foods are OK but the service is poor. We didn't even know who was our server that night. One of the slim Asian guy in white shirt looked very unfriendly. He might be the reason we won't visit here any more, even the veggie no rice roll (sashimi wrapped by cucumber) was very creative and tasted good.

Really delicious sushi. Great value as well if you order the all-you-can-eat.
