   Chose this for a Birthday dinner since we had a great experience several months ago. Last night 4/18/25 was a whole different experience! While 2 dishes disappointed….Arugula & Pear salad was heavily dressed with an overpowering lemon vinaigrette & the Salmon was dry….the pasta was great! What left so much to be desired was the service….we were largely ignored and even when the dinner rush had died down our waiter was hanging at the bar talking endlessly with a friend (Trader Joe’s employee) vs checking on any guests. We had to waive him over to ask for Dessert Menus…he took ages to return and by that time we had decided to go home without. He brought the bill…disappeared again so I asked another server to run my card. Disappointing as it was my Daughters birthday!!

   My wife and I enjoy this restaurant often. On our last visit the service was not what we are used to. Hopefully next visit will be better.

   The food and service was good but the restaurant was too loud to have conversation with our friends. They have an outside space, but it was too cold to sit outdoors. I would recommend the outdoor seating because it is too loud inside the restaurant.

   Our best experience yet at Isola Osteria. My wife and I live close to Danville’s cluster of restaurant but we rarely walk to them because once the sun sets over the west Danville hills a chill sets in that makes the four block walk home unpleasant. Charming as it might seem this restaurant has a number of tables outside. Even though there are a number of heaters the slightest breeze diminishes their warmth. The salads were deliciously dressed and the pasta was al dente. The service was slow and the tiramisu was too custardy. Certainly we will plan to return but probably not until nearer to the summer. The guitar entertainment was lovely.

   We had a family dinner there, and the noise level was exceptionally high. You could barely hear the person who was sitting across from you. The owner came by and said they were trying to fix that with cushioning the ceiling, etc. unless you were there were just two of you sitting across somewhere that you really couldn’t hear the rest of the people at the table We had a wedge salad and that was not good The lettuce turned out to just be the core of the Romaine and not any leaves You could barely cut it The ravioli and lasagna that people had our table was good Service was OK, but you had to wait a long time for your waiter to come back to the table

    A warm welcome and a delicious experience at Isola Osteria! We shared an appetizer of fried zucchini flowers stuffed with cheeses - they were very lightly breaded and fried with an appropriate amount of cheese. I could make a meal of these alone. All 3 in my group had pasta as our main course and everyone raved about the perfectly cooked and sauced pastas. Mains looked amazing leaving me eager to return multiple times to try both the porchetta and branzino.
