Ippuku in Berkeley serves yakitori and other Japanese fare. It is located downtown, right across the street from the BART Station. Ippuku's owners, Christian Geidemann and Paul Discoe, offer guests an izakaya-style setting with booth seating to enjoy meals. Fried oysters, crab croquettes or shrimp tempura make for delicious appetizer choices. An entrée of grilled squid with ink-fried rice, bacon-wrapped mochi or skewered chicken cartilage with homemade soba noodles will please the palate. It also has delicious desserts on the menu. Ippuku features a full bar that has a wide selection of shochu and offers sake, as well as beer with meals. This restaurant accepts reservations, making it a wonderful spot for date night with someone special.
