   Decided to try for Mother's Day dinner. Made reservation online. When we got there, it said seat yourself. My boyfriend asked a man in the bar. He told us to sit anywhere and someone would be with us. We sat in tavern part. There was one other table and three tables in restaurant. Sat there for at least 10 minutes and never saw anyone. When we did finally see a waitress, she never acknowledged us, not even "I'll be right with you". At this point we decided to leave and had an enjoyable Mother's Day dinner elsewhere.

   Awful! Waited an hour and a quarter and still the salads did not arrive. Went into the kitchen to tell the server that we were leaving as she was making the salads. She replied that our food was coming. Too late. She had a total of 2 other tables. It took her 20 minutes to give us our menus. They did not have our table ready for our party of 5. She pushed 2 tables together and took our drink order. Prior to our departure we did not see her for the last 20 minutes. P.S. I checked scenic view as I was not allowed to check out until I put a comment. There was NOTHING good about this place.

   Went for Mother’s Day brunch. They lost our reservations, tried to seat our party of 4 at a 2 top in the back corner. We asked to be moved to a table suitable for 4 people and it seemed like a huge request despite most of the tables being empty at the time. Once we were finally seated, our waitress came over. She whispered everything, asked really broad questions like “do you want anything else?” When she hadn’t brought us anything yet. There was a special Mother’s Day brunch that was advertised but half of the food on the menu was not available. However, the price ($25 per person) didn’t change. The only breakfast food was frozen French toast sticks and a breakfast “burrito” station. The tortillas were tiny. They ended up more like bite size tacos. Nothing was seasoned properly, labeled or particularly hot and fresh. I’m not sure that they even actually made any of the food. It all seemed packaged, frozen or otherwise prepared offsite. Most guests were upset and vocal about it. We complained to the manager who admitted that he knows there are issues but blamed them on the event that was held the night before, the previous owners, and lastly, the entire waitstaff. It was extremely disappointing.

   We felt as though we were in the Twilight Zone. There was no hostess. The bar tender ignored us, obviously waiting to be seated. Our reservation was not immediately found in their computer, though we had a confirmation. There was a group of people bunched up at one end of the bar, two single women seated alone at other locations. when we finally found a waitperson, we were very sympathetic as she was alone to wait on a very large restaurant (though initially no one was there), the bar diners, and take care of room service. It was more than anyone could handle alone. Very strange place that needs to get its act together.

   We used to come to this restaurant regularly. They had a nice happy hour. We stopped going because we felt the food and service had gone downhill. We went back to attend a music event. The food was just ok. The service not so good. Very confusing as the signs were not accurate, nor was the selection of beverages. There was something going on but nobody was sure what. We called for information about the event we were attending and got very little information. Overall confusing, staff lacking in knowledge, not very helpful. On the plus side restaurant and bar are very nicely decorated and seemed well kept.

   Best kept secret in Berks County! We have been enjoying the Inn at Reading Restaurant for 35 years and have celebrated many a graduation, birthday and anniversary there. My two local grandchildren and I have the continuing tradition of celebrating their birthdays there every single year for 19 years. And we always sit at our special table -- a forever memory for them.

   The location is a convenient place which is proximate to the Reading area and the Pennsylvania Turnpike. The atmosphere is charming and the food is good. The service was quick and excellent. It was very good for a business lunch.

   The table side Caesar was the best I ever had and the music was very nice.
