   There was some confusion when we were seated about who our server was. That was rectified eventually. I had the Ravioli Baltimora which is ravioli topped with lump Crab. The crab was scarce and I honestly could hardly taste it. I think it's overpriced given the quality of the food.

   they had no knowledge of our reservation and there were to parties behind us who also reserved tables which were not available. They had high school kids seating people who had no idea what to do. Once we were seated we had to move once our apps arrived so they could seat a larger group. Not good at all.

   We left the restaurant, they were unorganized and stAted they did did not know how to deal with the reservation system.

   We have heard good things about Il Basilico. The food was very good. Pastas, calamari, etc. Busboy was not personable or attentive. Waiter was fine, made recommendations, gave us space, etc. Biggest issue was lack of greeting when my wife arrived. No one acknowledged her, she need to find someone. Decor is not good even for a strip center. Vito's and CuVino have done a much better job with their spaces. I may try it again - because the food was good.

   This restaurant is nice to eat in if you want something casual that is a good value. They do not have a liquor license, but there is a liquor store nearby where you can purchase beer or some wine. There is a $5.00 fee to open the wine in the restaurant. The portions are substantial. I had chicken parmesan which was tasty and pasta with marinara sauce. The marinara sauce is chunky and spicy. The sauce that comes on the chicken was not chunky or spicy. My husband had lasagna which was tasty but a little too wet. If you order extra bread, there is a $1.00 charge. The bread is very good. The décor is not fancy at all - in fact, I think they should dress the place up a bit. They have a good location and they could make it a find if it was better decorated and more intimate.

   "Bring back Pasta Blitz!" This used to be our "go to" place that we recommended to all of our friends and relatives, when it first opened under the name "Pasta Blitz." For years the excellent service by native Italian waiters and owners made it authentic and more convenient than little Italy. As the original waiters and seasoned waitress moved on and service declined the name was changed to "Il Basilico" and at the same time the prices went up markedly. Some of the items including some fresh grilled fish (i.e. yellow fin tuna) were taken off the menu and only salmon and shellfish remain as staples. The pasta dishes are still very good (especially the veal granchia and anything with the rose cream sauce), but not as flavorful or spiced as they were before. I do not see the owner cooking any longer and hope that she is ok. There were minimal upgrades to the strip mall restaurant decor, namely a new side entry door to minimize drafts. We were still freezing there last night and the temperature outside was 40 degrees F outside--should not be so cold inside. No longer is parmesan cheese found on the table. The final straw is that the "coupons" are very hard to read for anyone over 40 (tiny yellow print) so that 3 times we were unable to use our coupons--in the past their coupon was not limited to M-Th, expiration date is harder to read (we actually had a valid coupon in the car). So 3 times we were unable to use the $10 off $50 dinner coupons. My husband's view is, "don't print coupons if it is so difficult to use them."

   We've been coming to Il Basilico for years now and have never had a bad meal there! Love that we can bring our own wine -- the food is always good and the waitstaff are friendly and fast. This is is a casual place with great food and nice people -- what more can one want on a Friday night after a long workweek?

   We visited after Christmas Eve service. Food and service were great. Love the Linguine with clams and Greek salad. Gluten-free pasta was available which was great for my daughter. They serve whole Pizzas and very large Pizza slices which was an economical choice for my granddaughter. Definitely recommend.

    The food is decent and the staff is friendly. But several issues made for a mediocre experience. The cold air from the front door made its way back to our table. The lights kept dimming and getting brighter, all throughout our dinner. The music kept going in and out and was staticky. The waiter neglected to offer us Parmesan cheese (at an Italian restaurant?). And of course, no liquor, but we knew that going in. This restaurant needs to get its act together on the little things to make it a destination.
