The name “Ichoume” comes from the address of this street. Ichoume is located on ‘1’ Harbour Street, Darling Quarter. That’s why we named the restaurant “Ichoume” (Choume is used for addresses in Japan. It's a way of breaking a municipality into districts. 丁目(Choume) is ‘city district’, so ‘1 choume’(Ichoume) is ‘1st [city] district’).

The design concept of the restaurant is a hangout for adults.

The menu is supervised by AKIKO ISHIKAWA, who has accumulated her career in many restaurants. The head chef is TOMOHIKO KIMURA . He specialises in Japanese - based cuisine with French techniques and flavours. SHINSUKE TODA is recognised among the best sushi chefs now working and is credited with techniques utilised in contemporary sushi and sashimi preparation.

    The food was INCREDIBLE and the service was great. Very kid/family friendly. Would highly recommend and can’t wait to come back.

    It was our first time coming here, and we got absolutely amazed by the food and the experiences. Strongly recommended and will definitely come back next time.

    Had a group in for a business lunch today, staff were so warm a welcoming. Food , drinks and service were awesome , value was a nice surprise too 🙏🏼

    Really good food in a fun environment. Drinks could have come quicker and odd interaction with the owner/sommelier over a poor glass of wine we ordered - this took the score down a notch. Would try it again. But only drink beer.

    Entree was great but main dishes weren't so good. The okonomiyaki was not crispy on the outside at all. They got our eel chiraschi order wrong and gave us standard eel don. I pointed this error when it was served. Waitress was very blunt and just gave the dish to us saying this is our order. I'm pretty sure i know what i ordered and since a item list doesn't get printed out i had no way of checking the order before it was made. Since we were celebrating a birthday i didn't want to make a scene out of it.
