Great burgers and beer, but pretty pricey for a single IPA...

What a tough week for everyone working over Xmas & New Years. Everything seemed to fall apart on my visit.

Our experience at Hops Culture was ok. The food was ok but nothing that special and the environment is fairly noisy. I would maybe recommend the restaurant for a basic dining experience in Aspen.

They were out of the top three menu items and top beers, leaving few appetizing choices. Service was slow and food mediocre.

The food was cold and generally low quality. Attention to customer comfort when asked to close open door in freezing weather was poor.

Made us wait 20 minutes when we had a reservation, then led us to bar seats at the bar. They said a table was getting up “soon” and we could sit at the table when the people got up but that was another 20 minutes and it was a high top table so we just stayed at the bar. They were nice but seemed short staffed for New Year’s Eve.

Kind of a disaster from beginning to end. It was New Years Eve and they were expecting a large party with a set menu for the night. Why they even confirmed our reservation is a mystery. We were sat in the area where the big party was coming and it was very awkward to be the only guests in that section while they got it all set up. Overheard wait staff saying to the other wait staff that were seating us saying it was too tight to turn it around for the party. Beet salad was quite good but Veal Schnitzel was a mess, almost inedible. My old fashioned was great but the bar ran out of the big ice cubes so they brought crushed ice. We rushed thru dinner (they told us we had an hour which we were fine with until we knew what we had gotten into), paid the bill in cash and they ‘forgot’ to bring our change. Maybe a mistake but at this point we were pretty unhappy with the whole experience. We complained and asked if they could at least comp our drinks but it was refused. Aspen has some really wonderful places to dine, this is not one of them. One of our worst restaurant experiences in years.

Great waiter, great beer, great liquor drinks, great food to! We enjoyed our NYE there, so glad I made reservations way out! My wife and two children (11 and 9) enjoyed it also.

The food was not good. We got the fish and chips and the fish was cold and mushy on the inside. Really none of the food we got was hot. The sharing plates were all greasy and some even had encrusted food on them. The glass water jug on the table was all chipped at the top. The bathrooms were disgusting! We just felt like an inconvenience. We had made a reservation weeks out for an early New Year’s Eve dinner and when we arrived we were sat a make shift table next to their waiters station and a supply closet that they need to keep getting into so we had to get up from the table so they could get into it. Over all it sucked. Drinks were great but don’t go there for anything other than drinks and make sure your glass is clean.
