   Service was the only thing that let down the day. It was terrible. We had sat down for a good 15 mins and had to wave someone over. Wasn’t particularly busy either they just seemed to be chatting amongst themselves. The afternoon tea was lovely and very filling, I wonder if the little cakes fit with the cheese though. The macarons were lovely but maybe instead of more cake pieces I’d have appreciated something like figs that go with both the cheese and honey.

   Bit appalling really, I sent a message ahead of time and said that one of us was gluten free, when we got there we were advised there was not a gluten free version of the afternoon tea. I would have thought for the cost you could have at least got in some gluten free bread!! As for the ambience, myself and my 60 year old mother don't really like to "get down" to Usher singing "yeah" over the tannoy. Utterly disgusting that an established place like selfriges can't cater for their customers or pipe in some relaxing music!!

   Lovely tasty food but very simple decor and small seating area. Wasn’t sure exactly what I was expecting. Staff a bit moody looking when we first sat down and wanted to order. Guy that brought the food to the table was very pleasant and friendly though.

   Very poor service. The manager looked absolutely uninterested in providing an attentive service and the waiters seemed rather inexperienced. The afternoon tea was expensive and not worthwhile.

   Delicious food and cool decor, the service was amazing and make sure you taste the honey!

   We went to the hive for afternoon tea. It was not what I expected from selfridges. The hive is a cafe at restaurant prices. The service was poor, with unfriendly staff and we were made to feel that we were an inconvenience I do not recommend. There are other places in London to have an afternoon tea experience for around the same price and you will have alot better time if you go elsewhere

   I enjoyed my visit to Hive. I had the Spanish latte and French toast. I would recommend the French toast as this was delicious. Hive was very popular and almost all tables were constantly full. The only reason for a 4 star is due to the price of the food/drinks but I guess this is to be expected given it’s located in Selfridges. I would still recommend others to visit even if it’s just once.

   I used to love eating in this space in Selfridges when it was run as Hemsley and Hemsley. This new iteration is terrible. The food is poor, the service worse. The manager was extremely rude.

    Really poor value and average food. Waiter was very polite and friendly Can barely see hives which are a marketing tool used for this restaurant- actually feels like sitting in an 80’s Debenhams restaurant on the shop floor- tables very close together
