A sushi bar and Japanese bistro. Inspired by the sushi bars in Tokyo. Himitsu introduces Japanese culture, design, and hospitality to San Diego.

Our 8 person sushi bar and 20 person patio is located in a discrete corner of La Jolla, a setting well suited to our name, which translate to "Secret" in Japanese.

Chef Mitsu Aihara presents a menu of traditional sushi and nigiri, along with Japanese style tapas using the high quality products and ingredients.

Great food, great vibes! Servers are super knowledgeable and point you to the perfect special selections. Always go for what's on the board, and if you are willing, go with what the chef recommends you will not be disappointed!

Everything was perfect, Sushi was fresh and very tasty, waitress was awesome, very attentive with good recommendations, sushi chef was also awesome, very engaging and helpful, knows his craft. Pricey but totally justified due to the high quality of everything, highly recommended especially if you appreciate authentic high quality fish

The environment was amazing with great ambience. The fish was fresh and delicious, and our waiter was amazing, he gave us plenty of good recommendations for what to see and do in San Diego.
