   I always go to hawksmoor where there is one. Unfortunately this one left alot to desire. The meat was not as good as the other one I have been to. Our waiter was very nice to give us a free dessert for the inconvenience of getting the fried eggs over cooked. My husband ordered the big filet with 2 fried eggs. By the time they made the other fried eggs he was almost done with his steak. Not a pleasant dinner.

   The roast wasnt nearly at the level it has been before. I was quite disappointed :-( Additionally, the cocktail was not a good value for what it was. I plan to try again in the hopes it was just an off day, but it did make for a disappointing Easter meal.

   In my opinion Hawksmoor is the no 1 steakhouse in London. 15 + visits is all I need to say, we return again and again.

   Fabulous food and excellent service from the bar staff through to the restaurant. Highly recommended

   First visit to the borough high street restaurant having previously been to Air Street. Equally good setting and very consistent experience. Great friendly service. Never felt rushed. Good food. Not cheap by the time sides added to meal but definitely worth a visit for a special occasion.

   My second visit to Hawksmoor Borough, and my sixth overall. The food has always been of good quality and consistently served, but as it's often the case, the experience can greatly depend on which table you are assigned. I've had some great tables, with ample space for everybody, and good location, and sometimes you're in a super noisy area or a high traffic area, or the ambience is wrong in some other way. In this case, the table was stuck in a corner at the far end, and due to the very limited space, in a table for 3, 2 of us were sat on the short ends of a longish/narrow rectangular table. One of us sat on a bench which didn't even reach entirely the width of the short end, so I had to sit almost on the corner, with not a lot of room to place my plate, side dish and drinks. Table 75 I believe... I understand that in a full restaurant you might not have the luxury of choice, and if no alternative exists, I'd rather be slightly uncomfortable than turned down. But next to us there were two tables for 4 which were empty the whole time we were there (7:30 to 9:30pm). So I feel that the substandard experience was entirely avoidable, and quite frankly, for the price paid I expected much better.

    We’ve never had a bad hawksmoor meal, but we really liked Borough as it was quieter than some of the others!
