Chef's Jeff Merkel and Leah Steduto spotlight their naturalistic worldview with beautifully composed plant-based small plates, gourmet sandwiches, mushroom based delights, cocktails, and a thoughtfully curated list of vegan wines.

Located in Kensington Market, the cozy dining space features an earthy, palette of dark wood and moss. A picturesque, romantic back patio is naturally decorated. A front patio lets you enjoy the lively sights and sounds of the market.

Our small plates menu is available for dinner service only.

All reservations have a 15 minute grace period. Please call or message us if you are arriving later than 15 minutes. Your table will be reserved for 1 hour 45 minutes for parties of 1-3; 2 hours for parties of 4-6; 2 hours 30 minutes for parties of 7 or more. If arriving late, we may not be able to extend your seating time if there are reservations scheduled after your allotted timeframe.

Once again the food was absolutely delicious! It is now my favorite resto in Toronto. The staff are super friendly and efficient and the atmosphere is lovely We will definitely be back again and again.

We booked the chef's table tasting menu and it was phenomenal. Each dish got better and better, the wine pairing was perfect and we enjoyed some well made cocktails as well. The chef was great taking time with us to explain the dishes, answer questions And we never felt rushed. And the front of house staff were impeccable. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and are already making plan to come back and enjoy the rest of the menu.

This restaurant should be in Canada's Top 100 and it should be Michelin rated/recommended. Kudos to the chefs for the unforgettable tasty and beautiful culinary presentations. Simply the best! And the cocktails...wow!

The food was delicious. The variety of dishes (all shareable) and flavours was amazing. Each dish was very different, but all of them to the highest quality of taste. The atmosphere is ok, the space is nice and small and due to the kitchen being in the open space, our clothes were a bit smelly afterwards.. but it was well worth it, given the quality of the food.

Dishes are decent coupled with service. My only complaint is the restaurant should make cleanliness a priority. The main entrance to the restaurant is gross and dirty. This is a turn off.

Wonderful experience. Nestled in a lively neighborhood, Hawker is a quiet and delicious respite from the bustle outside. Once you are finished enjoying the flavors and sipping on their house-made chai, you can pop outside and revel in the colors around you. We will definitely be back.
