In 1688, Joseph Haviland built a tidewater gristmill that provided the locally-grown grains to a nearby bakery that supplied farmers and tradesmen with bread. It was the first public oven in New York State. Haviland’s Old Grist Mill and the public bakery were community gathering places for two centuries.

Inspired by Joseph Haviland’s noble efforts, the Haviland Kitchen & Bar has been established for our neighbors. A place for our community to gather and share food and drink that are crafted of the finest in-season regional ingredients.

Table preference will try to be honored but can not be guaranteed.

                                                      Both the service and the food was absolutely fantastic. The ambience and decor of the restaurant is beautiful. I heartily recommend this restaurant to anybody looking for great food and great service and great ambience.

                                                      I could go on and on about what we drank, what we ate and the service. Instead I will sum up in two words-simply amazing. Thank you for a great Easter dinner.

                                                      Haviland Restaurant offers a great but select choice menu that is without doubt exceptionally well prepared food. A great dining experience. Service, quality, atmosphere are all high qualities one gets when done bf at Havilands. I may not be the most impressive writer when doing a review but I do know well enough what great food tastes like and Havilands serves GREAT FOOD

                                                      Food was excellent. Had baked clams, cauliflower tikka appetizer. Had Pork Chop for main. All were good flavor and cooked to perfection. We sat at bar and had perfectly executed Negronis. Dan the bartender was very entertaining and we had lots of laughs. Will definitely go back.
