Voted one of the 21 Best Mexican Restaurants in American, by Thrillist, Guaymas Restaurant is named after the the city of Guaymas in Mexico. Our authentic environment features white stucco walls, exposed wood beam ceilings, a bustling exhibition kitchen, and colorful festive decor.

Guaymas Restaurant brings the authentic, fresh cuisine of Mexico to Tiburon. Our menu is inspired by traditional Mexican ingredients and our chef uses over 12 different chiles to create the authentic, flavorful, bold flavors of Mexico. All of our salsa, tortillas, tamales, agua frescas and guacamole are made in our kitchen every day.

Sadly, all my favorite dishes kept getting dropped, from appetizers to entrees. The view is still great. The staff is still extremely nice, and it's a great place to watch the ferries come and go. Disappointed the company that now owns Guaymas is closing it down, as they closed Hs Lordships, which I'd gone to since I was a college kid. That place was on the Berkeley marina, so another nice waterfront location. Can't help thinking this is all about adding some other business to these prime locations and killing off the competition by buying it and slowly but surely driving off the regular customers. Makes me sad. Still worth going to until it closes, just to make the memories before it's gone for good.

Food is just average, big chain Mexican food. Hoping they have the desire to turn it around someday because the location is great.

They bill themselves as an "authentic" Mexican restaurant, but it's really more like Tex-Mex or American Southwest. You can't really complain about the food; it tastes just fine. But I never once encountered an authentic Mexican restaurant that served burritos, enchiladas, and quesadillas. It's decent chain restaurant food in a beautiful setting!
