The Grünauer family is proud to announce the addition of a new concept, Grünauer Bistro, to our restaurant portfolio. The Upper East Side of Manhattan has a long and storied Germanic culture and history. This restaurant is our attempt to resurrect the culture and tradition of Germanic food in a neighborhood that once was home to over 200 central and eastern European establishments.

Grünauer Bistro follows in the footsteps of our Kansas City operation by offering classic Viennese dishes while adding some more refined and nouveau items to round out a menu where authenticity is paramount.

    We have been to this restaurant several times and every time, it is excellent. We always seem to get the same waiter who’s name is Stash. He is extremely knowledgeable of the way the food is prepared and also of all the wines that are offered. I highly recommend this establishment.

    We had a wonderful time! Excellent dinner! excellent service and very cozy atmosphere. Comfort food served in an elegance. We will make sure to come back!

    Our original plans for Saturday night were cancelled, and we stumbled upon Grunauer Bistro while looking through Open Table reviews. How right they were! This restaurant is a true gem - authentic through and through, from the food, to the waiters, to the ambiance - what a treat! We ordered the Wienerschnitzel and the Sauerbraten - both were outstanding! Our waiter, Stanislav, was very knowledgeable about the wine and beer list, and made great suggestions for us. What a great find - we will be back!

    Lovely experience. Arrived at 6:45 in time for the price fixe. Setting sunshine was streaming into the restaurant, elegant ambiance, superb service, delicious food. Will definitely go again.

    Pretty wood paneled room. Very attentive service. The Wiener schnitzel was great. We went for that and will go back for the other specialties. Can’t wait to try the goulash and chicken paprikash.
