   The dining room is off of the huge lobby and not very intimate. There was a strong, pungent odor of pot that was there for half the meal. I understand this is 2022 in WA state but it was coming from somewhere close or through the vents. Not great.

   The location is convenient if you have an event at the Convention Center. The Salmon entrée was tasty. Good draft beer selection. Not so good dessert selection.

   It was a beautiful place to have breakfast for Father’s Day but unfortunately the service was very slow. When we made our drink order it took our entire stay to get what we needed the first time. Wait staff did not check on us much and my husband had to go up and ask for what we needed. I know staffing is short but just at least could have gotten us drinks to get us started.

   Haley, the server, was professional and polite. Being an open-area food location, this lends to a different flow of greeting and seating that she managed with ease. Ellie brought my food to my table and made sure everything was perfect. I did not expect the garden salad to have a more leafy variety of greens, but Coffee was excellent and seafood chowder was hearty.

   Made a reservation. Waited 20 minutes past reservation to be seated (total over 45 minutes of waiting in a clearly formed line in acknowledged). Was never greeted once. Had to approach the staff to let them know. Someone whom I assumed was the manager did not acknowledge any guest or seem to provide direction. He seemed to be running out Togo orders. Once we were seated Jasmine did a wonderful job and was very sweet and prompt. It was not enough to address all the disorganization and lack of process otherwise. Some recommendations: great guests, give realistic expectations (including saying you cannot seat new guests), allocate specific tasks to specific employees to streamline seating and table flipping, close OpenTable reservations if short staffed or apply a cap to reservations.    I left a review of this disastrously misguided "restaurant," but apparently, it was removed. Maybe Marriott got mad. Who knows? Anyway, I didn't really want to eat here, but the extreme heat in Tacoma closed all the actually good places in town, and I was staying in the hotel for the weekend. The Not-So-Great-Room needs help, STAT. WIlted lettuce, tepid steak, and out-of-order courses that did not match my wine pairings did not enamour me to this dreadful, overpriced eatery. The staff were indifferent and uninformed. The menu was severely limited and uninspired. I could have bought the food myself much more cheaply and frankly done a better job of preparation, as I am a good cook with commercial exprience. I cannot fathom how the chef in the kitchen actually earns a salary for the excresence at my table that evening, not to mention the absentee restaurant and bar manager. Worse, I had to wait for half an hour for my table, and I had a reservation. I'd like a refund, but I'm guessing the statute of limitations has passed by now. I asked to speak to the hotel manager, but that person never answered. I will leave an equally scathing review on Google, where I can expect many more views - to the detriment of The Greatroom. Get it together, Marriott.

   Stayed here for a night. The room was ok. Nothing spectacular and price is not worth it. The service is extremely slow . Staffs didn’t even notice or at least greet us when they saw us standing there waiting. Food is bland and not worth the price that the place is charging. Would not recommend this restaurant even if you are staying at the hotel. There are so many other places on the block that have much better in price and food quality.

    Went there for mothers day brunch and it was rough. Almost no employees to help, unorganized and chaotic. The food was edible but not great and the bloody mary’s weren’t drinkable. For it being such a big new hotel in tacoma we expected so much more.
