   A true pampered experience from the moment we entered the restaurant. The service was prompt, professional, and efficient. The food was better than advertised.

   Food and service was excellent. Display of dishes were very pleasing to the eye as well as delicious. Restaurant is very clean, everyone is gracious and courteous.    Consistently good sushi and sashimi, as well as other Japanese dishes. Not cheap but worth it for special occasions.

   I'm just gonna keep this short & sweet. I was a first time diner with my girlfriend & this restaurant was excellent! I reserved a window table with a scenic view (until the sun went down of course) & we were somewhat isolated, which was nice. Everything was delicious. I'm not gonna get into the specifics of each individual dish, but I will tell you what we ate. We had the following: Roast Duck (cold starter), Chicken Nanban (hot starter), Spider Roll, Shrimp Roll, Ahi Katsu Roll, Mini Udon, Green Salad w/sesame dressing, Sundae, Lady Killer Cocktail, & a delicious peach drink (i can't remember the name). I would highly recommend ALL of the items I just listed if you have never tried them & I would definitely order all of these items again in the future. Service was top notch, even though it wasn't super busy for a Sat night. Our server was SEIYA & he did an excellent job! He was very informative about recommendations on the menu & was able to answer any questions we had. I would also like to mention that ALL of his assistants did an excellent job as well (bussing dirty dishes, refilling water, serving food/drinks, etc). Anyone who hasn't eaten here yet should make a reservation soon & make your tummy happy!!!

   Beautiful restaurant but their "sushi bar" is really counter seating 6 feet in front of the sushi chef. Sushi was fantastic but only one server for the entire restaurant so service was painfully slow for lunch time. 20 minutes just to get our drinks, and she didn't know the difference between sushi and sashimi. Weird because there were a bunch of staff standing around doing nothing since there we only 5 tables occupied. Food quality still makes me recommend

   Nice ambiance with a great view of the water at Hawaii Kai. All the food we ordered was very good and the presentation was superb BUT I don't think it was worth the price. I can understand that the view must cost the restaurant a premium lease rent, however I just did not think it was worth the premium pricing. I really enjoyed the sushi rolls we ordered (rainbow and gokoku?) and the tataki was a little different than I am used to with very thinly sliced fish. Tasty though.

   Butterfish misoyaki was very delicately flavored. Excellent! Vegetable tempura was crisp and not oily. I liked every dish. They were light on the salt and yet the flavors were excellent. I already have friends heading there in a week or two. We drove from Pearl City to Hawaii Kai and it was well worth the drive!

    Second visit, we really like this restaurant. They are very attentive and efficient. My wife is a great cook herself, including of Japanese food, and finding a restaurant she tolerates is hard but she has been impressed with the food here. Highly recommended!
