   We liked the ambiance. The food was great. The waiter was surly and too often unavailable. He was kind enough to exchange the filthy fork we were given with a clean one, however.

   This was my third visit to Gina. I discovered it when walking on Lexington Avenue. The ambiance is great. It reminds me of a European cafe. They have the best lentil soup that I’ve ever tasted. On this recent visit I brought a friend because I had such a great experience the last two times.I decided to try something new. Big mistake. I had the pizza with 2 eggs sunny side up, spinach, mozzarella and prosciutto. They brought the pizza with eggs that were so runny they looked as if they just cracked them. I asked the if they could just cook the eggs for a few seconds so that they were edible. When they returned with the pizza the eggs were so overcooked the were hard boiled! The pizza was also burnt on top and tasted dry. I also realized when I left that they omitted the prosciutto! My friend ordered an omelet, which she said tasted o.k. It was listed on the menu as coming with French fries, it came with home fries. There is a difference between French fries and home fries with peppers and onions. She asked the waitress and was told that they were French fries. The food was overpriced for what we received. This is the first negative review I’ve written about a restaurant but I was so upset about the food we ordered that I feel compelled to write this review. This was my last visit to Gina.

   1st waiter wasn’t great. Switched to waitress who was wonderful. They didn’t have wine on wine list. Door kept staying open/cold air blew on our table. Cute place, but they need to make some adjustments especially with service.

   Gina - Lexington is a stylish place that offers very good food. It's a slight bit pricey, but very pleasant. The staff are very concerned with the comfort and satisfaction of their diners. We went there because of the location; we had tickets for the Kaye Playhouse at Hunter. But we plan to go back to enjoy another dinner there.

   HUGE fan of this place! Walking distance to the park and the great Upper East Side shopping, creative dishes and excellent service. We will be back and bring our friends!

    I normally don’t order appetizer before my meals because it takes away my enjoyment from the main dish. Well, here at Gina’s I should; the portions are very small, and there’s no bread and butter before meals. I order veal piccata; it was very delicious, however the meat was pounded paper thin accompanied by a very small portion of green beans and about 4 wedges of small roasted red potatoes. I split the bill with my friend and left $40 dollars with taxes and tip (no beverages). My teen daughter called right on my way home asking me to meet her at a hamburger place and eat with her, so I was still hungry and accepted the invite and enjoyed a nice juicy hamburger afterworlds.
