   An outstanding Italian restaurant set in a beach town. The clams and mussels were excellently prepared as was the fish dishes. A small and thoughtful wine list and a clean second floor location (with an elevator access). Craft cocktails. An enjoyable experience.

   What a shame that this wonderful restaurant is a seasonal only spot. Hosted by co-owner RJ this York beach gem is open till October 25 this year, Thursday thru Sunday. Warmly welcomed and seated at a ocean view table far enough down the patio so as not to be noise polluted by the happening bar scene we had one of the best meals EVER! Lynn our server was funny, attentive and sure handed with our vodka martini's. The gnocchi appetizer was a revelation of puffy cloud like heaven and what can I say about the main course? Ribeye steak: tender, well seasoned and cooked a perfect medium rare. Green beans: thin, tender crisp and nicely accented with a touch of fresh sautéed garlic. Fingerling potatoes: perfect crisp outside and warm flaky insides. Finished off with the house specialty doughnut balls and a fond farewell from RJ I am left believing that I just ate one of the top five most enjoyable meals in my life.

   Worst chicken parm ever! Clotted fettucini, san marzano tomatoes..I don't think so plus rubber chicken! Place has potential but my entree was so bad will not ever go back w/ all the dining options nearby. Had the same dish 2 years ago at GiGi's and it was amazing..must be a different chef.

   Started out good but half way through the meal they seated a very large 14 person party next to us. They moved tables around etc...and then it got loud! The three of us were enjoying a nice lat night of family vacation dinner. After this point, our service became non-existent. Food was just okay, service was sub-par at best! We had 4-5 different servers throughout our meal and after dinner they never returned to even inquire if our dinner was good. Never asked about dessert or coffee. We had to tap one of our servers on the shoulder to ask for our check. They just don't seem to care...too bad! Head down the street to Union Bluff...that's what we'll do when we return here on vacation again next year!

   Ten of us went to Gigi's to celebrate the last night of our vacation that also was the birthday of one of our friends. Everyone knows dining can be difficult with a large party but I was thrilled to find them on Open Table and was able to make reservations for the time we wanted. I made note that it was a birthday and got a confirming phone call from the owner asking what type of desert we would like for the special occasion. I was impressed. When we arrived and while our party was having drinks in the bar, our server introduced herself and told me she was going to take care of us for the night. She asked me who the birthday girl was and we confirmed the desert. To me, this is above and beyond typical service. Once seated, the owner, RJ came over to introduce himself, tell us about the farm to fork food and where he sources his produce. The personal touch was much appreciated by the foodies in the group. The Menu had enough choices for everyone to be able to pick a dish that was exactly what they wanted and it was delivered by at least 4 people so there was none of that long wait for everyone to get their dishes. The food is fantastic....so much so that we actually stopped talking to eat for the first time the entire week. Gigi's is not your typical beach place. It's a fresh hip hot spot, and when in the York Beach neighborhood, should not be missed.

   Dinner for 4 adults and 1 baby. They accommodated the baby beautifully . Really great cocktails, and food was generally excellent, but ... One person requested a vegetable substitution, and meal came out without request . Server apologized, but correct vegetable didn't arrive until all were done our meals. Another person ordered surf & turf special, requesting steak be prepared as medium. Steak came out pretty rare. As all others already had our meals, she made the best of it. Many apologies from the server, but no visit from the manager, and no discount or return coupon offered. Somewhat soured an otherwise nice meal.

   A restaurant that made sure it gets a plus from all the fresh produce in a very italian way. Everything was delicious.

    We stay at York Beach each summer and dine at all the local establishments...without naming names. We try to spread it around town by picking a different spot/concept each night out. Our party was (2) adults and (2) kids; we made a reservation through opentable to be safe but they could have accommodated walk-ins at our arrival time...little early when you spend a day at the beech [5:30p] We ordered the Chicken Marsala, Chicken Mariana, Kids Pizza (adult size large!) and a children's chicken finger...a bottle of wine and the bread/oil was just the right amount of food without having take any back home . Gigi's was by far the best meal we had all week. If weather permits sit on the outside deck...if rain falls you can always move indoors to a equally pleasant atmosphere.
