However, unlike pubs and bars found in American and England, Japanese izakayas place a premium on food as well drinks.At Fukumoto, meals are served gradually over several courses instead of being ordered a la carte from the menu. As the name suggests, there are two main types of cuisine at Fukumoto. The first is sushi, but that also encompasses nigiri and sashimi offerings. The second is yakitori, which is usually skewers of marinated chicken grilled over an open flame. However, the Fukumoto kitchen staff play with the concepts and uses a variety of proteins, sauces and vegetables to bring some variety to the traditional version of the cuisine.
