   We booked the table for family meal at very last minute and we had a nice table for 7 people in the quiet part of the pub. Couple of us had tempura vegetable starters - they were otherwise good except the batter was bit too thick for tempura. We also had one burger ordered which was bit too dry and partly burnt. Rest of the food was good and plenty.

   Very attentive staff in this pub which is suffering untold levels of problems due to the demolishing and rebuilding of the Butts Bridge (Watercress Line) which effectively lies in their car park. Whilst we were there enjoying lunch the lady behind the bar had to take several glasses off shelves as the thumping vibrations from the works threatened to dislodge them - only lasted a couple of minutes. Good food, good service and all at a fair price.

   We had a table booked for 8.30 pm on Saturday and called to say we were running 10 minutes late. The staff were super friendly, unfortunately it looked like we were the last people to order and after our delicious starters our main course came out. My husband's stake was stone cold and my pork main was raw in the middle, pink juice was gushing out when I cut into it. The staff dealt with it professionally and offered to cook a new dish but we chose not to wait for a new dish. We will more than likely return to give them another chance as I'm sure this was just an unfortunate mishap, at which point I'll amend my review.

   We had burger and chips - best chips my husband's ever had, fantastic cheesy fish pie and outstandingly tasty 3 sausages and mash with very tasty onion gravy. Also noted a Polish vibe to the menu so tried Polish apple pie. Totally delicious! Didn't like the crazy crockery though - too difficult to eat the ice cream with expresso coffee. Need a bowl please. Nice, comforting food, very suitable to taking older family members out for birthday lunches. Will revisit and try the Polish meatballs.

   Although we had booked last minute & had confirmation, there was no room in the restaurant. We had a nice meal in the bar area. There was a magician entertaining the kids which was different! Nice place. It has a garden which would have been nice if the weather had been nice.
