   We had the over DB&B deal, so the previous comments regarding a reduced menu applied. Having said that the options were good, though seafood comes with an additional surcharge. There is also a mandatory 12.5% service charge, so what out. One of the main courses wasn't up to scratch, and we mentioned it to the head waiter, didn't make a fuss though. Recommend sitting in the corridor rather than main restaurant, though late arrivals walking through with suitcases did spoil the atmosphere...... Room larger than expected, though fixtures seemed a bit tired - bed valance ripped, shower not great. Nice spa facilities, though crowded in the evening. There is a 'running room' though treadmill broken, bike & rowing machine screens not working. Breakfast pretty basic, more B&B than hotel..... Arrived to check out & the seafood surcharge was deducted, as was the 12.5% service charge. You can't say fairer than that. So overall a nice escape, but not ****

   Very Disappointed evening. Menu cut down extremely and have nothing to do with 2 Rossete AA Michelin food/restaurant. Dont get fooled with any online menus!! No atmosphere, paper napkins and poorly service too. Food what we get was lovely presented and taste nicely but that's was all. If you expect a special evening like we did go somewhere else

   We were the only guests in the restaurant and food wasn’t special at the price.

   The food was beautifully presented and the staff were amazing! We had a lovely evening and I would travel again to eat there.

   We arrived to find out there wasn’t a chef and no Sunday meals were being cooked Very disappointed

   Great venue for your traditional afternoon tea. Delightful sandwiches served with warm scones, jam and clotted cream topped off with a selection of cakes. All washed down with tea from their wide selection. Service was attentive and all staff were friendly. Nice view so their gardens complimented the day.

   The food was excellent. Tasty, well cooked, good quality ingredients and presented very well too. It was also very reasonably priced, especially given the quality. However, it was let down by the ambience and the service. The hotel can do nothing about a lack of people in the restaurant, but it did feel odd being the only couple in the restaurant on a Sunday lunchtime, so there was only the atmosphere the two of us created! The staff were friendly and well-meaning, but far from polished. A little more proactiveness and little things like setting the starter cutlery outside the main course cutlery would have pushed my mark for service higher than 3/5, and potentially pushed the overall mark to 5/5. We would definitely go back, but maybe in the evening or for a more relaxed bar meal style lunch.

   Pretty average. Went for afternoon tea. The place is a bit run down now and in need of some updating. Staff were very difficult to find to get more tea and even to pay. Food was ok for the price.

   I must say, I was so disappointed with my visit to Fredricks. My friend and I went for afternoon tea and were really looking forward to it. But we both found the experience really disappointing. Firstly the afternoon tea cakes looked nothing like the advert, nowhere near as fancy. The scones were lovely but we only had about a couple of tablespoons of cream between the two of us which wasn’t enough! The chap who initially gave us our tea was lovely but then once he had gone we didn’t see a soul. There was no one coming to check if we were ok or needed refills. I ended up drinking cold tea and my friend who had a coffee had nothing once that was finished. It wasn’t until we were practically finished that someone else came to have afternoon tea that we could actually grab someone to ask them for a refill! The ambiance of the afternoon tea was awful. Initially there was lovely music in the background but after about 15 mins it was turned off and we were left in silence. All we could hear were staff in the next room shouting to each other about something or other. There was no atmosphere at all and we actually felt like we shouldn’t be there! I’ve been to a number of afternoon teas and this was by far the worst one I have had. However this was my friends first afternoon tea and we thought that Fredricks would be fabulous for a first time tea..... but she was so disappointed! I felt really bad for her! :( I don’t think I would come again.
