Having eaten at the Georgetown location, I knew what was on the menu so I decided to go for a sandwich for supper. The veggie/brie was very tasty, but it was too hard to handle. The bread was cut crookedly so everything kept falling out, especially a large piece of roasted red pepper--should have been cut in two. It was, however, delicious, and I took half home with me. Spouse had a Caesar salad, which was deemed excellent (and large) and the gnocchi. It was plated in a flat soup-style dish. At the end of the meal, there was lots of sauce remaining but no way to eat it. It was well prepared and enjoyed. For dessert, we wanted to share the Death by Chocolate. . .but they were out of hot fudge! We settled for the chocolate mousse piece which was excellent. We understand that all desserts are made in-house, so no frozen Restaurant Depot slices. Although it was after 7:15 on a Sunday evening, the restaurant was packed (make sure you have a reservation). We were seated in the "porch" room overlooking U.S. 1. Hard surfaces everywhere and very loud, especially a couple of tables where groups of young women kept loudly laughing and hooting. Our wonderful server, Cassie, told us to request the "farmhouse" room next time, carpeted and fewer hard surfaces. . .although closer to the bar which was loud, too. We'll give it another try on a weekday, maybe at lunch.

Our experience was terrific! Cassie was a fantastic server! Food was delicious. It came out hot and fresh just like we wanted it to be. Onion rings are to die for…. That crunch! Cornbread is light & fluffy! The old fashion was a table favorite. We will definitely be back. Oh and they validate your parking. Remember to get dessert. I recommend the chocolate or coconut pie. Both are delicious! Crust is flaky and both pies have a wonderful light texture. Not overpowering with chocolate or coconut.

Food was good. Parking was easy in garage next door but expensive. Even had to pay on Sunday! As a vegetarian, I was very disappointed that I could not order the vegetarian soup (tomato bisque) as it came with a grilled cheese sandwich. Our server said he was not allowed to order it without the grilled cheese! This is ridiculous nonsense especially when there was no other vegetarian soup on menu. Very disappointing. Other than that, the food was very nice.

So disappointed with the Alexandria location. We've been to the DC locations and Tysons. Their menus are much better. It was loud! I had to yell to the person across the table from me. That's not enjoyable to me. Parking is available underground but, you have to walk out of the garage and a good block to get around to the entrance on the side street. If the weather is bad, you may want to reconsider. The food was good but, nothing to write home about. Half the menu was sushi, salads, burgers, hot dogs and sandwiches. If we were in the mood for these items, we would have gone somewhere else. I get the area and the demographic that they are trying to service but, it should be named Founding Farmers Neighborhood. They are looking to the surrounding high rise apartments for takeout. They only offered one dinner special on a Saturday night. The bright spot was our server Giselle. They were well trained and very knowledgeable about the menu. The bar area looks very nice. I would suggest apps and drinks at this location.

I visited the Alexandria location my wife, 3 Year old and newborn for brunch. We arrived ~45 min before our reservation but the host was able to seat us within 10 minutes. My 3 year old grabbed a strawberry donut from the cafe while we waited and it was fresh and delicious. Once we got to our table, we ordered some coffees from our server who was very attentive. As for the food, it was just so-so. My wife had the beef brisket egg hash which was a sizable portion and pretty good, though my wife prefers the brisket hash at Junction Bakery better. I ordered the sausage and eggs which was sub-par. It was one sausage link, maybe 2 eggs scrambled and one small scoop of fruit..my plate arrived and was 50% empty. I did order the buttermilk biscuit too but it oddly came out to the table way before my meal and I finished it before my main arrived (it was delicious). As for my 3 year old, there is no kids menu and they do not offer sides of French toast so she had to get a portion that was huge and only ate 25% (the rest we took home). Overall I’d give the experience 6/10 but I’ll give it another try again in the future.
