Foreign Cinema is a one-of-a-kind, nationally acclaimed restaurant blending independent films with California-Mediterranean cuisine. Enjoy a stylish indoor dining room with a full bar and fireplace, or relax in our heated and covered outdoor courtyard where 35mm film screenings begin at dusk.

For those seeking a more intimate experience, our private dining options include the mezzanine, amate terrace, and gallery, thoughtfully curated by Modernism West. Our vibrant DJ/live music bar, Laszlo, serves craft cocktails, zero-proof options, a full dinner menu, and lively tunes to end your night.

We are currently accepting reservations for both the heated and covered outdoor patio and indoor dining up to 60 days in advance. Standard seating refers to indoor dining. For groups of 9 or more, please reach out to our private dining department at janine@foreigncinema.com for booking details.

    For Mother's Day Brunch, we are offering a celebratory 3 course prix fixe menu for $70 per adult & $35 per child (price does not include beverages, tax, or gratuity). There are multiple selections for appetizers, signature brunch main courses, and desserts with vegetarian and vegan options available. This is the only menu available, à la carte options are available at our bars only on a walk-in basis. We have a 48hr cancellation policy for Mother's Day Brunch, it is $30 per person if cancelled after 5pm on Friday May 9, 2025.

    Took the birthday crew to Foreign Cinema to wrap up our Sweet 16 day—and let me tell you, this place did not disappoint. The ambiance? Chef’s kiss. From the string lights to the vintage film playing on the wall, it felt like we stepped into a whole other vibe—romantic, artsy, and just enough bougie to feel special but not stiff. The food? Elevated, flavorful, and beautifully plated. Everything tasted like it was made with love (and butter, probably). The girls were living their best lives with every bite. Service was warm and attentive—our server was a whole vibe, patient with our questions and made great recommendations. Perfect for: Celebrations, date nights, or when you just wanna feel fancy in a chill way. Parking? A struggle—it’s the Mission, after all. But totally worth the loop around the block. Price? Not cheap, but you’re paying for the full experience—and it delivers. 10/10 would go again… once my wallet recovers from this Sweet 16 extravaganza!

    We had a delicious Easter brunch! Love that the restaurant is kid-friendly (menu, high chairs) - they even hid Easter eggs around the restaurant and gave us a coloring book! Food was amazing and service was excellent and very fast. Making it our family tradition for Easter brunch!

    This is one of the best brunch spots in the city. Both the outdoor patio & interior dining room are beautiful. We enjoyed some zero proof cocktails, including one that featured peach and orange. The lavender-baked goat cheese with pears was wonderful. With a menu that rotates with the seasons, we will look forward to returning.
