Fonda Nashville is a neighborhood restaurant serving authentic, elevated Mexican fare driven by
acclaimed Chef and Partner Roberto Santibañez. With the original concept opening in Brooklyn, New
York fifteen years ago, Santibañez, along with local restaurateurs, bring a fresh take on Fonda to the
idyllic 12 South neighborhood at 2316 12th Ave. Santibañez, an award-winning cookbook author,
restaurateur and steward of Mexican cuisine, opened his Nashville “comida” this May 2024.

The menu distinguishes itself with a focus on small, shareable
contemporary plates. These dishes will range from Queso Fundido and Ensalada de Nopales to a
Mexican take on Burrata En Salsa Verde and a desirable Wagyu Con Mole de Avellanas. For the
table, you can order build-your-own taco boards or enchiladas baked homestyle.

Some nice Nuevo Mexican dishes served in a loud but friendly environment. Drinks are okay, but tiny in size considering the prices. Having said that, I’d give it a try, as there are so incredibly few good Mexican restaurants in greater Nashville.

Our server, Kaden, was great! Fun personality and attentive with great recommendations. The atmosphere is nice and fun. The food was okay-nothing to write home about and a few dishes were lacking some flavor. Margaritas were great! Overall, won’t rush back but not opposed to trying it again since the service was so good!

Loved it. Some dishes were a little salty but delicious. Tuna tostada would be perfect with a hint of agave. Generous portions and colorful and delightful dishes. Lovely atmosphere, but tall table chairs are a bit uncomfortable. Service was kind and helpful but had a couple of small errors. Overall, great! We will return for this elevated mexican dining experience!

Excellent food and pleasant service. But one of the noisiest restaurants I have ever been in. And the service felt hurried---did not let us finish one course before bringing out the next one (even though we asked them to delay)

My first experience at Fonda was exceptional. This is truly authentic and upscale Mexican, which is in rare supply in Nashville. Margaritas were made as they should be ..... just good tequila, agave and lime juice. The freshly prepared guacamole was outstanding. My wife, daughter and I shared the pollo tinga taco board and the puerco enchiladas. Delicious! Our server Mariana was very knowledgeable and pleasant and very attentive to our table. We will definitely be back soon.

This is the freshest food I’ve ever had in Nashville. I cannot wait to share with my audience on TikTok! The guac was 100/100- the vibes, food, service, was top notch and I can’t wait to go back!

Without a doubt one of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to. From the elevated interior to the incredible drink/food options, I can’t wait to bring all of my friends here! This will definitely be a regular go-to spot.
