   I been to this restaurant plenty of times in the past I took my family here Easter Sunday, but the experience was not the same. Although we were paying dinner prices, we had to constantly search for waiters to bring select cuts of meats, and it felt like pulling teeth.

   FOGO de Chão was once my favorite restaurant to dine at, but as I have aged, I have enjoyed it less. Don’t get me wrong, our experience at this Washington DC was exceptional. The staff and service were terrific. It’s just that it’s no longer a great value. It wasn’t long ago that you could enjoy the full churrascaria experience for $50 per person. Now, it's a whopping $75 per person and the staff makes a considerable effort to upsell you to the $95 experience that includes luxury meats like lobster. Those prices are insane and it presents quite a bit of guilt when it comes to paying the bill as one feels no matter how much you eat, it's not worthy of that price. We started with the salad bar which is included in the meal. Both my girlfriend and I thought the selection of salad items was exceptional and everything was fresh and tasty. While eating our salad, and thinking about the price we were paying, I was thinking perhaps we should have paid for the salad bar instead of the churrascaria as it was filling enough (and we took it easy). I was very impressed that the second we turned our food card over to green, the meats arrived at the table one after another. It was so quick, in fact, we found ourselves choking on our food to keep up with it all. On the one hand, you don't want to miss an offering but on the other other, one needs to pace themselves. For the most part, the meats were delicious and tender. We particularly enjoyed the filet mignone (which did not come around more than once) and the chicken wrapped in bacon. However, what stood out most was how salty the meat was. Every piece that we ate was coated in an overpowering salty seasoning. As someone with slightly elevated blood pressure, I had a rough night digesting the food when I returned to the hotel. It gave me a lot of angst. There is a part of me that has decided the days of eating at FOGO de Chão have come to an end. It's way to pricey and the meat is way to salty.

   The Pacania was very rare every time it came out. It felt like we had to flag down the gauchos just so they would stop at our table, which was infrequent. Not many meats to choose from. Drinks went unfilled. Our family frequents Fogo for special occasions and this was one of our worst experiences.

   Fogo de Chao is literally a “how customer service is supposed to be” manual! From every place I’ve been in Washington DC, I have never been treated with so much care, respect and friendliness Food is outstanding, a lot of options and variety, their salad bar (which is much more than that) was so fresh that couldn’t avoid it at all! In general a 6/5 experience!

   Servers were attentive and meat came quick. The waitress was not as attentive. They let us sit by the window.
