Chris Edwards and Dave Tregenza, owners of Salts of The Earth drinks consultancy and award winning cocktail bar and restaurant The Shrub & Shutter are excited to introduce their newest venture, situated in Herne Hill, South London.

The concept is health, nutrition and doctors’ orders but with our own unusual alcohol based twist. First Aid Box serves from 5pm daily, with the exception of Saturdays, where Alchemy coffee, Jing tea and fresh juices are available throughout the day, with the addition of our health inspired cocktails long into the evening.

Our menu includes dishes with fish and meat from local suppliers the Pished Fish and Jones the Butchers and cheese & charcuterie from Harvey and Brockless.

Great drinks, food and atmosphere, check out the speak easy style bar "Blinders" on the weekends which has a different cocktail list from the team behind Shrub and Shutter, and the small plates on the evening menu are great, the brunch options are epic, and very reasonably priced to, my favourite neighbourhood hang out by far.

I organised a birthday meal for my wife and friends and had a pleasant time here. The staff are great, there isn't much room where we were near the front door, the cocktails were quirky and fun and we particularly enjoyed the Oysters, delicious. Good for something a bit different.

We visited First Aid Box for dinner and cocktails before a gig and would definitely recommend it to others. The cocktails were fantastic. There was a very wide variety which made choosing only two much harder and the quality of the ingredients and presentation was outstanding! From the food menu we would highly recommend the steak tacos and the chicken in a bun. Our only request would be for a wider range of desserts!

Great range of nicely presented cocktails. We had a few of the 'bites' which were all delicious and three of them were enough for the two of us. Service from waiter was exceptional - he was very friendly and made good suggestions.
