I truly wanted to love this spot. The name “Farmer’s” and the beautiful photos set high expectations for a fresh, welcoming experience—but sadly, the reality didn’t quite measure up. When we arrived, there was no host or greeting. A woman—who appeared to be a manager—looked up from her laptop, saw us, then looked back down without acknowledging us. After waiting a few minutes, we walked in ourselves, and thankfully a kind waiter named Andy stepped in to seat us. Andy was the one bright spot of the experience. It seemed like he was the only person working the floor, managing all the tables, drink orders, and service on his own. He was moving nonstop and doing his best under tough circumstances—he’s the reason I gave the service three stars. He deserves serious recognition and support. Unfortunately, the food didn’t quite land either. Our dishes arrived cold, our order had mistakes, and one of the main entrées—the poblano omelet—was so tough it was nearly impossible to cut. We couldn’t eat it. The pancakes tasted more like store-bought mix, and the compote seemed canned rather than fresh. And the plates definitely did not look like the photos on Open Table. There were also small things that added up: sticky water cups, unclean restrooms, and a general sense of disorganization. I’m sharing this not to tear the place down, but to help future guests make an informed decision—and in the hope that management takes the opportunity to elevate the experience. The concept has great potential, and I truly hope they step into it. In the mean time, there are several better options in the neighborhood.

This was the third time I visited a Farmer’s Table - 2x in La Mesa, once in Chula Vista; in the past 6 months and have been very disappointed with the meal I ordered. The person that I was with each time felt the same way. The taste was off, and the quality was not as it used to be. Pizza crust was soggy, burger looked as if it was thrown together and the pecan crusted chicken sandwich tasted like bitter pecans and lacked flavor. I will not be returning.

I finished every crumb of my chili relleno omelette. The house potatoes were a tasty complement to the omelette. The coffee was rich and smooth. I definitely want to return to try their carnitas omelette which my friend had for her brunch plate. The prices were reasonable which makes this a place I would gladly visit often. I like their mission of serving organic, farm-to-table foods. There is ample free parking behind the restaurant in a multi-storied parking structure.

The place wasn’t even busy and the service was horrendous. There was one guy on water duty and he couldn’t even do that. As we walked in 2 people from separate tables came to the host to complain that no one had greeted them yet. Every server looked like they were struggling but again the restaurant wasn’t even busy. It was not the best experience to say the least.

Breakfast was really good and our server super nice and attentive. I had the poblano chilaquiles, spicy and good! The regular coffee was good too. We’ll come back to try chilaquiles verdes..

Guillermo greeted me upon arrival and was very warm, welcoming. My friend arrived and had a great time. Many years since we last connected so had lots to catch up on. We both ordered the pecan crusted chicken salad. A nice portion and tasted ok. Server checked on us several times to make sure we were good which is always appreciated. Before leaving, Guillermo stopped at our table to see how things were and to invite us back for dinner when the restaurant is transformed for Italian experience. He made it sound really nice so will probably check it out.

Customer service was not the best, can definitely improve to be more courteous and less robotic.
