   The NYE six course tasting menu with wine flight was incredible. The food was delicious, the service just right and the musican was fantastic. Overall a wonderful evening.

   A little quite when we went. But the food was really well cooked and presented. It is local to us but i would recommend it if you are in the Stroud area. Normally a very good wine list. They are associated with their own vineyards in Kent so a very good selection of English wine.

   We had dinner two nights running at The Falcon and enjoyed everything we ordered. The brisket pie was absolutely delicious and on the second evening we had kedgeree and duck - again very tasty. The tarte tatin was superb as well, as was the caramel cheesecake. In terms of atmosphere, the dining area was chilly and not terribly welcoming. It had an open hearth which could have been lit and this would have made all the difference, particularly as on our third day there, heavy snow had fallen and it was very cold outside. I’m sure more custom would have been attracted in, had a fire been available. The dining areas were decorated in heritage colours but somehow looked dull and not terribly inspiring. We have gone away most years for a pre Christmas break and atmosphere and Christmas decorations are definitely the things that make the breaks extra magical. I’m sorry to say The falcon didn’t score very highly on these points. The staff were lovely but it was clear that there weren’t enough of them and this made service very slow.

   Great food and ambiance unfortunately towards the end of our perfect meal a table close by got very noise which out a dampener on the evening. Even the table opposite left to sit by the bar which was quieter. Apart from that great service, food and vfm

   Lovely breakfast. Held one star back on ambiance as it could have been cosier heat wise but understand the expense!

   We had a lovely evening but we got very cold by the window because of quite a draft coming through it but the view over the lit yew trees in the churchyard was magical. We both enjoyed the food we had if a little pricey.

   We sat by the window with a beautiful view towards the church. The food and wine were both very good. We both had mushroom and truffle pasta and a well priced South African white wine. The service was outstanding. Our waitress was very knowledgeable and helpful and made the event particularly special.
