   I always enjoy dining at Esin. Today I ordered the salmon salad special. The salmon was tasty but the salad greens were pretty substandard. Not sure why quality was so inferior but it was disappointing.

   So, I really like this restaurant, but this particular visit - not great. My experience with Esin has been great service and great food. This time, everything was "off" for me. I only ordered a caesar salad and a chicken breast. The caesar salad (not cheap) was literally the most underwhelming salad I have ever seen. 3 small croutons, a few dust particles of cheese, not a huge portion. The chicken breast was overcooked. I asked our waitress for additional salad dressing but she forgot and we ended up asking someone else. Our waitress started off great but seemed to forget us. My friends meal looked great (pot roast). For me, not great this time - spent about 26 bucks on something I could have had better at a much cheaper place. However, i will return because one bad experience isn't everything.

   I love Esin. Our waiter Mathew is always great. The atmosphere is so conducive to wonderful conversation and no matter how full it is, there’s never noise. The food is wonderful too!

   A local favorite for any special occasion. We have been customers since their previous location in San Ramon many years ago.

   The special was halibut and it must have been over cooked because it had the consistency of swordfish, a bit tough. It was disappointing but not bad. I subbed fries for the gratin potatoes and the fries had been sitting somewhere awhile because they were limp. They replaced them with fresh ones which were perfect. The service from the server was good but there was almost no attention to water glasses being filled. Overall, my feeling is the ownership must have changed because it was not at all the restaurant it used to be.

   The waiter...Michael...was delightful...he made our experience extra special!!! We appreciated the delicious lemon meringue pie which was. a special treat from Esin!!!

   Our table was waiting for us and the restaurant was very busy when we arrived, so thank you Open Table. It was a nice table in the corner. The organic chicken sandwich I had was good, but not stellar. The pot roast my friend had was off the hook good! The desserts were not that good, just OK, not really worth the money. The cocktails were stellar and I like the half bottles of wine available. At times we wondered where our server was and where was our food. The service was spotty. The waiter was personable, but maybe too busy?? Anyway, it was nice for lunch. I would go back again.

   Service is usually excellent. This time however, the waiter was distant, disconnected, hard to communicate with, never smiled and often gone for long periods of time. Maybe he was not feeling well or was overwhelmed with too many tables to attend to. All 4 of us felt it was very odd and uncomfortable.

   Great service, very good food. Soup was delicious and the fish special was perfectly prepared.
