   They were trying to rush us out a bit (tried to tell us they had a table at 8:30 when we had a 7pm reservation) but was fine besides that. We had a party of 6+ so per their own terms we had at least 2 hours.

   The ambiance was nice and the service was great. The food was decent but I do not think it commands $200 for two people, even with appetizers, desserts and a single drink. I would definitely tell people to check it out but we won’t be back specifically due to price point.

   Everything was very nice. Only downside was how close the other two seater tables are together.

   Food is awesome. Bang Bang shrimp is a must. Great speciality beverages as well.

   Service was fine, staff overall was nice. Music was way too loud, constantly pulsating where you couldn’t really hold a conversation and everyone is trying to talk over the music just to have a conversation. Food was overpriced and not great. I ordered the honey chicken. Chicken consistency and coating wasn’t great, zero crisp to it and the chicken wasn’t tender the way you’d want it to be. There was basically no discernible honey chicken flavor, it instead just tasted like it was soaked in oil and some seasoning. Not appetizing at all. My friend got the pad Thai, said it was ok, very spicy, but nothing incredible. Also, the restrooms are almost pitch black and the toilets are also black… so good luck seeing anything in there. They also need to switch their paper towel system, just a pile of them on the counter that all wind up soaked from previous bathroom users is kind of gross. I had been meaning to try Elephant East for a few years now, and after finally trying it I can say it was a large letdown. It’s a pretty restaurant, but that’s really all it has going for it. The location may be a little further over in Preston Hollow, but a restaurant like Royal China or even a more basic place like Si Lom off of Oak Lawn really put Elephant East to shame.

   Ana the server was prompt, cordial, gracious and well versed on the menu and wine list. The food lacked flavor, I had a tooo much gristle in my chicken, and I had hair in my noodles. You cannot be in the most expensive restaurant district in Dallas and call yourself Elephant East w/o injecting some flavor - some ginger, garlic, basil, lemon grass, among others into your food.

   We stumbled upon Elephant East and loved it. Great food and great service from Dan, our waiter. The bang bang shrimp and Korean fried chicken were delicious. I would love to eat here again to try more from their menu!

    Went here for my friends birthday and we all absolutely loved it! The Bao Buns and Drunken Noodles are a MUST!
