The only reason I gave this ANY stars was- the server was good at his job- altho bogged down by the inept management- and the food was good (what there was of it) The food is WAY WAY overpriced. You are basically paying for the "ambiance". Tonight the management had a function at the zoo, a big private party and obviously a lack of kitchen staff because we sat down at 7pm and did NOT GET SERVED until 9pm!!!!!! They should have closed the place to walk-ins and reservations, they should have anticipated a problem and informed us when we walked in (we had a reservation 4 days ahead) so we could have made the choice to leave and go elsewhere. Two tables next to us got tired of waiting and walked out. We would have also but were celebrating a Birthday and did not want to disappoint the Birthday girl! ALSO the bill was horrible- most over priced place I think I have ever been to for dinner. I said the food was good except for the portions....I had scallops- very good but only THREE of them (and they were not big!) with about a tablespoon of something that resembled mashed potatoes and a small single sprig of reeeeealy nasty tasting broccoli (at least I think that's what it was) :P We took the desert to go so I can't comment on that because I gave it to the others. I'm too embarrassed and disgusted at the obscene amount of money we shelled out to get such a bad experience!! OH, and management NEVER came out to apologize for the TWO HOUR WAIT or offer us anything off of the monumental tab!! So- in conclusion, I CANNOT recommend this place and I will NEVER go back.

What didn't go wrong. Waited at bar for twenty miutes past reservation time. No one took drink order at table near the bar. Waiter too busy talking to his friends at other table. I gave up and went over to bartender and ordered Manhattan at bar "up" and it came on the rocks. Finally moved to dining room . My sister and I ordered special wedge salads and entrees. Entrees came in just 10 minutes but no salads . Servers said they couldn't take entrees back !? Waiter apologized for missing salads. Reasonably priced $40 "prime" 14 oz. ribeye was anything but "prime". More than half of it was cartilage and gristle which I left on my plate after chugging down the tough remaining raw rather than medium rare beef as ordered. An expensive class of Barbaresco didn't come until the end of my meal. Oops, sorry again. Apologetic waiter said they were taking 20% off meal but brought bill with just 20 % off the inedible steak price. Waiter lamented that was all they would do. I didn't argue the point . What indifference. A study in how not to treat customers.

Element 112 never fails to deliver. Chef Nixon is talented and has incorporated local foods into a restaurant in Toledo Ohio! This is easily the best restaurant in town for delicious and interesting food. The foam on the oysters was spectacular, the pork and fish were wonderful. A highlight for us were the sides including: mushrooms, polenta and beets. Wow!! Can't wait to go back!

Element 112 was out choice to celebrate two birthdays within the family. We had eight total at the table and our waiter did a good job presenting the choices and serving the food. The drinks were creative especially the smoke infused cocktails. The wine selection was robust and with the 3oz pour, you can taste a few. The menu has a good variety without being overwhelming. We tried a few of the appetizers which were all tasty. The salmon, pork, and swordfish were all prepared perfectly and were delicious. We shared the chocolate, and cheesecake deserts. The celebration was a success and surely memorable.

We had a wonderful dinner in the tasting room, a multicourse dinner paired with wine. Outstanding from beginning to end. I've had the pleasure to dine at some of the best restaurants in New York, and I'd put Element 112 up against any of them. A true NW Ohio gem...

We had a wonderful meal with four diners. Two of us had the filet mignon, one had chicken and the other salmon. All food was beautifully presented and the wait staff was exceptional. Great array of cocktails. Our dinner companion tried all the smoked bourbons. The desserts were tiny masterpieces of deliciousness.
