Four of us went for dinner. Three ordered Margaritas I asked for mine without salt. All three came with salt.. Second one person ordered ground beef burrito and she got chicken burrito. Third asked for a side of sour cream. Never got it. Our waitress seemed a bit preoccupied .

Strange city, looking for a true Mexican meal. Found it at El Palacio! Arrived early, so we took advantage of happy hour margarita's - very good! That was just the start - they have a salsa bar - help yourself and mix and match. Again, a nice surprise. Carne Asada beef tacos were excellent as were the pork tamales. Try their own Mexican chicken soup - it came in a large bowl - homemade and very filling - YUM.

We were looking for a 'new' Mexican restaurant to try out while visiting family in the Valley (our go to is Tia Rosa's in Mesa but wanted to branch out a bit) and chose El Palacio based on recommendations from various dining apps. The staff was certainly attentive and helpful - I give them high marks for that; however the food itself was a bit disappointing. Ground beef Chimichanga instead of shredded? Salsa verde with little taste or texture beyond mashed tomatillos? Maybe we set the bar too high with our 'go to' Tia Rosa's but for the money, ambiance, and all around experience of a quality neighborhood Mexican restaurant El Palacio didn't meet our expectations. For a quick lunch or drink in the bar it's probably passable but it certainly isn't somewhere I'd take friends or family to on a regular basis.

We love this place! Truly a neighborhood gem, the staff here always make us feel right at home. Emily, Lauren, and Renee make our visits extra special. They have the best Gold Cadillac margaritas in town!-1/2 price on Mondays :) Their menu has an amazing variety of options not often found in your average Mexican restaurant. I particularly like their seafood soup. They have excellent carnitas rancheras as well . Makes Mondays something to look forward to!

We frequently visit this restaurant for its good food, great friendly service and the relaxed atmosphere. The wide variety of specialty dishes makes El Palacio a step above the others. We also have used their catering services for a few special occasions and we're very delighted with the generous portions. Taco tuesday is always a great excuse to get together and catch up with friends for an inexpensive meal. Thanks for being in the neighborhood.

The restaurant was just ok. Our server had too many tables and we were off in the corner so he didn't get to us much. The kids burgers were overcooked and hard. Kids did not like them. The adult meals were good but it would of been nice if they would of came with a knife.

Good place for a Mexican dinner for the family. Decent food and good service. Prices slightly on the high side, but for the convenience of just driving a mile or two for dinner with the family, I would recommend this place.

This was my first time dining at El Palacio, and I took my teenaged sons. Even though there was a large group waiting for tables, our reservation was honored and we were seated immediately. Chips, two types of salsas and a bean dip were brought out as soon as we sat down. All were good, but we especially liked the bean dip, which was quite a bit better than the usual Mexican restaurant fare. Our drink orders were taken and filled quickly. Then when we began ordering dinner, things went downhill. For some reason our server, although very friendly, contradicted what we wanted, and practically insisted on changing our order. My son wanted the appetizer taquitos and she told him he get them from "the grill instead of the appetizer version." My son acquiesed, as did I when my fried machaca burrito was changed to a chimi - "same thing, but better" according to the server. My other ordered the seafood tostada. The food took forever to arrive, during which time we finished off the chips and salsa and our drinks (refills were slow at this point, too), and just sat there waiting. When the food finally arrived, it was barely warm, the taquitos were grilled - not "from the grill," whatever that meant, not crunchy and swimming in grease, the tostada was a plate full of mostly lettuce, and my chimi was full of stuff that would not have been in the burrito I wanted to order. It was a decent chimi, just not what I wanted. Overall, I would try again and just INSIST on ordering what I wanted to order, and I think I might be more satisfied. But even that wouldn't fix the greasiness of my son's food, the lukewarm temperature of my food, or the fact that the seafood tostada was lacking seafood.

Went primarily because of their involvement with Eat ur Art Out but have been there before and have always loved their food, service and portions. Had friend from Chicago and all three of us enjoyed it greatly. Posole was excellent - was able to contain myself and bring half of it home! Fruity margarita prices (non happy hour) were explained well to ladies but they ordered and enjoyed them a lot.
