El Atlacatl is a restaurant serving the traditional cuisine of El Salvador, with a few international twists thrown in. Being located in Miami, the restaurant carries with it all of the bright, festive colors and décor that are consistent with the city's party reputation. The cuisine of El Salvador that El Atlacatl servers is equally influenced from locals, nearby South American neighbors and the Spanish that would eventually settle there. At El Atlacatl there are a variety of fresh seafood, chicken and steak dishes. One of the signature dishes on the menu is the papusa, an El Salvadorian original that is made from a thick corn tortilla and stuffed with a variety of fillings. El Atlacatl has several types of papusa for guests to choose form including spicy pork, refried beans, marinated chicken and cheese. There is a fully stocked bar with several mezcals and tequilas.

We enjoyed a tasty dinner with a friend who had eaten there before. The live music was very loud in the next room but we were seated far enough away that it was not uncomfortable. Service was good. Nothing fancy but a change of pace and reasonably priced.
