About this restaurant

  • Good for special occasions
  • Lively
  • Good for business meals
With Echo & Rig Chef Sam Marvin has introduced a pioneering new concept transforming the long-held theories behind the steakhouse formula.

We put a unique nose-to-tail spin on the traditional steakhouse, allowing diners to indulge in the best cuts of meat for incredibly approachable prices.

A butcher before a steakhouse, we use every part of the animal. We care about every animal - how it lived, what it ate, and how it was cared for.

Our 7,000 square foot space is located in the Downtown Commons Neighborhood (DOCO) in the lobby of The Sawyer Hotel. Situated on the bustling J Street corridor facing the Golden 1 Center main entrance.

We have a versatile space: a private dining room with audio/visual capability, an outdoor patio, and an outdoor bar available for rent.

Food was very good - but wine list was lacking. They were out of everything we ordered.

The best service we have had in a restaurant in a long time. Friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. Unfortunately the food wasn't great--lacked flavor and some things were not cooked well. Otherwise we would be making this a regular place to visit.

I've been to this several times before, and have always had a great experience. I wanted to bring my partner here for quite some time now. Our server was Kim, and the past few times I had been there, she was always my server. She was excellent, and engaged my partner and I in conversation. She made some excellent recommendations about our dinner, and they were totally worth it! I would recommend anyone visiting Sacramento, or any locals who want a nice restaurant to go to, this place is it!

Came overdone like shoe leather Got cocktail 20 minutes after ordering. Worst Bloody Mary ever. No garnish, no flavor. Walter never asked how was No regular sugar for coffee. Only fake stuff , he said he’d try to find some. Freezing inside Could go on and on. Will not return for brunch

My friend and I came here for dinner, and what a meal! We started with Bacon w/House Made BBQ Sauce, Pork Belly Burnt Ends w/Cherry Glaze. I also ordered a Shrimp Cocktail for myself. He then ordered a NY Strip and I had a Ribeye Cap. He ended with 2 scoops of Vanilla Ice Cream, and I had a Sorbet Bowl with one scoop each of Mango, Lemon and Peach. An amazing meal was made better by the fantastic service that Zack (Zach?) provided. He was very friendly and knowledgeable. We are definitely making this a monthly thing!

Came in for a Sunday brunch with my husband and our 3 small children. We enjoyed our food but the wait for our food was long and the restaurant didn’t look busy. My husband said his steak sandwich was pretty good, my son liked his waffles with berries, daughter liked her steak salad, and I enjoyed my lemon ricotta pancakes. Next time I’ll try their short rib hash. Valet parking guys were confusing and not so nice. Our waitress asked if we needed to validate our parking ticket. We were happy she asked. Now we thought our parking was going to be for free, but when we gave our validated ticket back to valet after brunch, the guys said we still owe them $15 and didn’t clarify that it’s $25 to valet and $15 after validation from restaurant.
