   The chilean sea bas was exquisite! The shrimp dumplings delightful. The sashimi plate and sushi plate we by far some of the best we ever had. M Sushi roll and the soft shell crab rolls were a perfect addition. My husband had the pear cider imported form France and it was amazing!

   Absolutely delicious sushi, speedy lunchtime service. This is the only place in Durham for sushi imho!

   My partner and I come to Durham for work annually, and always make a point to cap our trip with a visit to M Sushi, and this visit was particularly disappointing. The grand omakase was one note, with the same fish essentially presented on different plates; no hot courses, no dessert, and while it was an 830 reservation, I was disappointed with the haste in which the kitchen was broken down - I was even sprayed with cleaning supplies, ruining our final course! Not sure what’s changed here, but I’d be reticent to order the tasting menu in the future given the lack of value and diverse courses. Very disappointed!

   The rolls were good but small. We weren’t blown away however. Service was spotty. Water glasses left unfilled too long. For the cost I would expect more. It was fine overall but I don’t know if I would return.

    M Sushi lives up to the hype and was worth the wait for a reservation. The staff was extremely attentive without being intrusive, polite, and fast. The sushi was phenomenal. Literally the best we’ve ever had. We got lobster dumplings as an appetizer and they were incredible. The space was perfectly proportioned so that the number of chefs could easily accommodate all the tables quickly and efficiently. It’s worth the wait and the cost. This is a definite must-try!
