About this restaurant

Dunbar Kitchen and Tap House in Denver, Colorado offers a warm, friendly environment to enjoy bar food and craft brews. However, the menu is a bit more upscale than the typical offerings you'd find at most bars. There is hummus, pimento cheese, hand cut fries, tomato soup and Napa apple slaw at Dunbar Kitchen and Tap House, to begin with. There are also five different types of burgers here. The double-double is extremely popular because of its two Harris Ranch beef patties, American cheese and secret sauce. There is also a portobello burger at Dunbar Kitchen and Tap House for anyone who doesn't eat meat.

When we drove up and found a parking spot directly in front of the restaurant we were a little uncertain -- but SO glad we tried Dunbar Kitchen. Food was wonderful and we had the most attentive service I have had in a long time. Sat out on the back patio and enjoyed the sunshine. Will be back the next time I am in town!

The food was not spectacular. But it was good. We had a ribs, sliders, falafel, and honey fried chicken. My cousin was visiting, so we picked a place that had a good place to carry on a conversation. We sat outdoors. The atmosphere worked. Indoors it is smallish. My chicken was dry and the honey flavor comes from honey being drizzled over the top. I found it too sweet. If sweet is your go to, then do try it. The sliders and falafel were our favorite. The service was terrific. And everyone was friendly. I say go. And check it out for yourself.

Dunbar is truly a neighborhood gem. So nicely tucked away next to the light rail tracks on Welton St., you could easily miss it, or think you are in the wrong location. But fear not. The restaurant and bar are warm and inviting, the patio is open and relaxing, and the staff make you feel like you've come home from a long trip. The food however, is what will keep you coming back. Everything is home made, and these southern recipes are spot on. I dare you to find a better shrimp po-boy anywhere. The burger is one of the best in town, their sides are fantastic, and the local beer selection is outstanding.

Good food. Good beer. Great service. Not crowded on a Friday night. Cervantes discount if you're going to a show.

We tried Dunbar Kitchen & Tap House based on ratings from both Open Table and Yelp and we were not disappointed. The service was outstanding and the food was excellent. They have some typical pub fare but with an imaginative twist. We had the evening special, Friday Fish Fry and a Cheeseburger. The fish was well seasoned with a hops infused light and crispy coating. The cheeseburger was grilled to perfection. The ambiance is rustic and cozy. If we lived closer to the area, we'd be regulars.

My wife and I recently moved to Five Points and stumbled across this gem. The draft selection is fantastic and has plenty of rotating taps. The menu is varied and has something for everyone, and the food is spectacular. On top of all that, the service is amazing. Super friendly and knowledgeable staff is able to make great suggestions. Definitely come and check it out.

Had an amazing server - Jess - who really had fun with our table. The Rack of Ribs was very tasty and the fries were crisp and yummy. I wanted a special tequila but because I had never had these tequilas before, I asked for a small taste to determine which one I wanted. The bartender came out with the samples and told me a story about the brand. I was stunned as I have never had that happen before. I picked one for my drink. A bit later she brought out another bottle to show me because she thought I might like that one too. That makes Dunbars a winner for me!

I had reservations for early Saturday, but they weren't essential. Not that busy at 5:30. We were seated quickly and the wait staff were there quickly. We both ordered the nightly special, Surf & Turf. Two shrimp and a beef skewers, cooked in the house sauce, on a bed of mashed potatoes and Brussel Sprouts. Very crispy, yet tender and delicious.
