   Try to book a table overlooking a green. Actually saw a golfer use a 'Trump' move as his 12 inch putt was going to fall short and he just brushed it on into the hole and claimed the putt! Anyway...food was delicious (only to be expected) but I was slightly disappointed to be told that they had removed the Reuben sandwich from the menu and the chef was unable to make me one. Lovely waiting staff, although slightly overkeen to continually check that everything was ok. One check is acceptable, 4 checks while we are eating is not. No fault of the waiting staff, I expect they were only following orders!

   The table was available early - plus Didn’t take the order until the table booking time, gave us plenty of time to watch the ladies putt out on the 18th -plus Gluten free choices were good - plus The waiter forgot part of the order But good value for money, we will definitely come backs

   Menu is s basic pub food but disappointing when it came, staff are very friendly and efficient.

   Our booking was cancelled due to protest by Palestinian activists vandalising the building and golf course, both of which were closed down. Therefore I cannot comment on any of the criteria above.

   This is second time my husband & I have had a meal here. Food is amazing & plentiful. Menu has lots on it & spoilt for choice. Tables are spread apart & total privacy. Staff are very attentive & makes whole experience in Duel in Sun a fab one. Will definitely be back soon.

   Staff were so friendly & knowledgeable We both enjoyed our meal & the experience Everything was perfect, couldn't fault anything.

   We opted for Duel in the Sun instead of the Hotel restaurant as we preferred the menu. I had the fried haddock which came absolutely bone free(my fear) & cooked to perfection & my friend had the cottage pie which she says tasted great. The tables are all well spaced out & not rubbing shoulders with other diners. We found all the staff to be very friendly and helpful. The shuttle service from Turnberry Hotel was a bonus or it was me to drive or shankse's pony 🚶... all in fantastic evening 😁

   Overall we had an enjoyable meal at Duel In The Sun, however the slow service left us disappointed and did not meet our expectations. Despite the restaurant not being particularly busy, our party waited nearly two hours for our main courses after arriving for our 7:30 PM reservation. Fortunately the food was delicious when it did arrive. When we requested the dessert menu the waiter continued with clearing tables and engaged in conversations with colleagues. After waiting patiently we decided to forgo dessert and had to approach the waiter to request the bill. Given the prolonged wait and inattentive service, we felt compelled to ask for the removal of the 10% service charge—a step we’ve never taken before. This experience left us conflicted, as the quality of the food was excellent, but the service issues significantly detracted from our overall enjoyment.

    Celebrating Burns night and no haggis to be seen. Opted for Sirloins which were pretty tough and not cooked as requested - service was great however food did not match.
