Review summary

AI-generated from verified diner reviews
Ducie Street Warehouse offers a "fantastic venue and food," with a lively ambiance enhanced by a DJ. The staff is described as "absolutely delightful" and "attentive." However, service inconsistencies and mixed reviews on food quality suggest room for improvement. It's an "amazing venue to look at," with potential for a great experience.

The service was a bit poor. I asked for an hibiscus tea after seeing it on the menu but a regular English tea came i spotted milk was being served with it so asked the server it was hibiscus and she said yes but it was English tea. I asked the man who served us and he said he thought i said English (fair enough) I asked what their fruit tea was and no hibiscus so I asked for a lemonade - which never came. The bill included the lemonade but they quickly removed it. The place felt quiet but a bit off service wise considering it was a Saturday. Everyone was pleasant and the food was fine but generally a disappointing way to start the day.

We stayed at Native apartments on Saturday night and were debating cooking our own breakfast or eating at Ducie Street on Sunday. We opted to check out of the apartment and have breakfast at Ducie Street before heading home. When we arrived, a waitress said ‘Sorry we’ve stopped doing breakfast’, to which I replied ‘But we’ve got a booking’. She walked away to serve other customers and, when she came back, said ‘It will be a 40 minute wait, we have some difficulties this morning’. We had pre-booked parking and couldn’t really afford to wait that long, so we left. It was just a very disappointing end to a fabulous stay at Native. Surely, as I made a reservation, Ducie Street should have contacted me to let me know the situation. Instead, we had to go and find somewhere else (when we could have just stayed in our apartment and eaten there). Luckily, we did find somewhere nice, as breakfasts in Manchester can get very booked up, but ended up paying a lot for it – when we would have had a discount through our apartment booking. Will definitely be back at Native but will give the Ducie Street restaurant a miss. With so many great places to eat in Manchester, they really need to be treating their customers better.

Thank you for your feedback, and we’re genuinely sorry to hear about your experience. We understand how frustrating it must have been, especially after looking forward to breakfast. Our communication regarding the situation clearly wasn’t up to scratch, and we sincerely apologise for that. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention, and we’ll be reviewing our processes to ensure we handle these situations better moving forward. We hope you’ll consider giving us another chance in the future.

Food was disappointing. Choice is quite limited and chicken burger was just ok. Hallucinating was dry.

If I could rate the service in this restaurant a 10/10 I would. The food, drinks, and general atmosphere were fabulous. But most of all, Emelye (our server) was absolutely delightful. She was so lovely, helpful and attentive. We came on a Tuesday eve, and although quiet, it was still wonderful.

Thank you for this kind review! We are glad you had such a great experience with us. It's great to hear you enjoyed the food, drinks, and atmosphere, and even more so that Emelye made such a positive impression — she really is a great member of our team, and we'll be sure to pass on your kind words to her.

Table for ten people so we have to let some issues slide. The service was fantastic, the lady that served us was brilliant and professional The food however was inedible, we had three out of ten starters and six out of ten meals taken off the bill as they were inedible. I run a monthly Sunday dinner club and have never made a single complaint but this was a real tough experience and too expensive to let stand. On entering the building you could see into the vast kitchen where one chef was working. Two hours before we were served we could see part of our food already cooked and waiting to the side. The beef was truly so tough we struggled to cut through it and cutting made the tables shake so much we gave up. The cauliflower starters lacked any cauliflower and were just fried dough, I don’t know what has happened to this restaurant but I regret to say there is no quality here and don’t recommend going Another frustrating thing was the manager did not come over once. We were a table of ten in a pretty empty restaurant, an apology would have gone a long way.

Thank you for your feedback. We're really sorry to hear about your experience and apologise for the issues with the food and service. This isn’t the standard we aim for, and we’ll be looking into the quality of the dishes and ensuring better communication from our team. We appreciate your comments and hope to provide a better experience in the future.

Amazing venue to look at, snotty guy on reception so rude when I asked where to restaurant part was, waited over 30 mins to get someone to take a drinks order. Food was fast but cheap infredients. Overall expensive for what it was. Looks lovely & handy for Piccadilly but not enough staff for such a large venue which is a shame.
Ducie Street WarehouseResponded on March 14, 2025
Thank you for your feedback. We're glad you liked the venue but are really sorry to hear about your experience with the service. This is definitely not the level of hospitality we strive for. We’ll take your comments into account to improve both our staff and service for a better experience next time

The food was a standout. I had a vegan roast and it was great quality and portion size was great. Service was a bit slow at times but the team were friendly. Would definitely return in the future.
