   Food was very distasteful. The cod 4 inches long and 1.5 inches wide, which is a very small piece. The cod was cooked well but it was smothered an a large amount of a horrible sweet soup-like creamy sauce that made tasting the cod practically impossible. The cod was $38.00 and there were no vegetables or rice served with the cod. That is very unlike most chef presentations we have had with seafood. My husband's half chicken was good but the side dish was a roll of cabbage with a horrible tasting sauce/spice. You also have to pay $5 for bread! Just a disappointing and expensive dinner

   So, I'm often on a quest for the perfect pork chop and I can now stop my quest because Drakes has absolutely nailed this dish. A delicious glaze, just a perfect amount of smokiness, tender, juicy and packed with flavor. Then you get this one of one bread pudding thingy with bacon and seasonings in it. So good. Great green beans with sauteed onions. Overall exceptional dining experience.

   The food here is overpriced and was not good. The mussel entre was flavorless. My husband's $56 steak was a poor cut, very grisly. The table wait staff were good, but the food has really gone downhill and is overpriced. Also, if you eat in the bar, there is no separate bar menu. Wine pours were small and overpriced.

   What a great location. The Black Cod and Mussels were delicious. We had a reservation for a window table and a beautiful table was available, but they unnecessarily stuck us in a corner on the window that was not as good. If the beautiful table was for a later reservation, well the table stayed empty during our Tuesday night dinner.

   We went for a fine dining experience. They ALMOST delivered. The grilled cod was unexpectedly in so much foam it was a broth. The signature cocktails didn’t live up to their promise. Sunchoke soup and clams were really good. The host tried to put us at the one table without a view for no reason…but our server was excellent so she was the bright point of the evening.

   Our meal at Drakes was wonderful. We will definitely be back. The views of the bay were great. The food was delicious. The service was excellent.

    On May 24th-27th my Wife, Sharon, and I celebrated our 35th Wedding Anniversary at The Fireside Lounge amongst several other Anniversarant couples of 1, 3 and 44years. Servers and bartenders Scarlett and Willa treated us right. Great music and songs was provided by a talented singer who played the guitar and harmonica. We then dined in Drakes restaurant where the host, Jose, sat us at a window seat which enhanced our experience. We were then waited on by Joaquin who served us well. We returned to the lounge Saturday, missed the entertainment, sat at the bar and for the second night in a row ordered the delicious clams with a chorizo broth and great cheesy bread along with their chicken dish. Sunday returned to the lounge as we had no reservation for Drakes, but I asked Jose if he was able to seat us and he was. Served again by Joaquin, we ordered the New York steak which was the evening’s special and, we ordered the clams for a third night in a row. Took half of our steak home. Order the beet salad as we did both nights we ate in the restaurant which was adorned with black, blue and strawberries strewn with crushed pistachio-deliciouso! If we return to Bodega Bay, we will come back to dine at Fireside Lounge or Drakes restaurant. An honest review by Attorney Robert L. Meissner, so help me God.
