We’re a traditional Indian restaurant serving up authentic street food, curries and speciality dishes. We have an extensive menu with options for vegans, vegetarians and pescatarians too.

Dostana means friendship in Hindi, and over the years our customers have become our close friends. We recently celebrated our 50th birthday, and although our name may have changed a few times, the restaurant has been under the ownership of the same family for the last five decades.

We’re always busy with delivery and takeaway, but what we’d really love is for more customers to visit us here at the restaurant. Our home is a distinctive building on Allerton Road which the family believe was constructed in the late 1800’s. We don’t know exactly how old the building is, but customers have told us they remember it being both a post office, and a local pharmacist… A real piece of Woolton Village history!

A must go to place to eat. Will definitely be making this restaurant a regular place to eat. Staff were wonderful, the food was delicious and lots to choose from. 10/10

What a fantastic restaurant, delish food fantastic service , lovely vibe. Party of 9 and we all loved it. Highly recommended. Looking forward to going back .

I love this place. Service is always fantastic, we feel like friends rather than customers. Food is always delicious, hot and fresh. Staff are excellent at recommendations if you are unsure what to order

Absolutely outstanding restaurant for food and drink....value for money staff amazing do food as you like it. Only problem is there is no disabled toilets although on website it says accessibility they are on ground floor but our friend who uses a zimmer frame found it very difficult to get Into a toilet.....I did ask of there was a disabled toilet and was told yes on ground floor but unfortunately they are just regular toilets. They did apologise but hopefully they can rectify this as my friend would like to visit the restaurant again.

We had a beautiful meal on New Year’s Day. Good and service both brilliant and would highly recommend- some lovely vegan and veggie choices too
