   We had a lovely meal - delicious flavours and textures with some favourites (bread and butter pudding) as well as some new ones (rounded off with a lovely malt). Service was friendly, relaxed, and ensured we had a really good evening so we sauntered home relishing a mild Spring evening in Southwold.

   My partner and I dined here last Saturday enjoying seared tuna, mackerel tartare, cod and halibut. All quite delicious and paired with a velvety volnay.

   Almost everything was excellent. Andy (owner and waiter) has a great sense of humour. Not entirely sure everyone will get him, but we had fun. Food was excellent. Lobster bisque prawn and mussel risotto outstanding. As was the marmalade bread & butter pudding.

   The mackerel starter and the air dried pork starter were lovely but were crying out for some warm bread and quality butter. Three diners nearby also requested bread. The reason was that they use it all at breakfast! Southwold is full of artisan bakers. Please Serve bread! Apart from that small adjustment we would recommend this restaurant! Mains - the bisque sauce was absolutely delicious and I requested a spoon so I could finish it.

   Very disappointed with our dining experience. No-one available to greet us when entering the restaurant and after we paid the bill no-one around to say goodbye. Overall the food was quite good although quite expensive and we did expect far better service. Also we expected a tablecloth on the table and a linen napkin, not a folded paper one. Advertised as a 'special experience' !

   Fabulous fine dining experience in a relaxed atmosphere in an amazing building. Can't fault the food, wine or service and will definitely return next time we are in Southwold.

   Truly yummy food. I always have one of the vegetarian mains and the beetroot wellington did not disappoint.
