Dublin's most famous pub, certainly in a literary sense, with its Joycean associations. Always classy and fashionable. It's the original Dublin gastropub at over 100 years old.
Anybody who is familiar with Dublin pub food will be aware of Davy Byrne’s food reputation, in which seafood is the speciality.
If you visit the premises at lunchtime and evening time, you will witness the huge trade which is done in fresh Seafood, Wagyu Burgers and pub classics like Fish & Chips. There is also a full range of Salads and Sandwiches to compliment these and, as often as not, you can enjoy Oysters and Guinness.
The classic Gorgonzola sandwich with a glass of Burgundy as mentioned in Ulysses is available every day.

Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate strollers/buggies indoors at Davy Byrnes but subject to availability, we can at our outside terraced area. We apologize for any inconvenience.

                                                            I have been here a few times for lunch and it continues to deliver the best quality food, staff are excellent and great value for money. I wouldn’t think of going anywhere else when I visit the city.

                                                            Exceptional food with great service and atmosphere. Lovely selection of dishes and drinks, with outstanding taste. Value for money was pretty good for the taste, with the only issue being you end up wanting to buy more!

                                                            Starters: There was no obvious cod in the cod fritters. The charcuterie plate was good. Mains: The Guinness steak pie was VERY salty. The fish and chips also bizarrely had a pile of salt on the fish. Literally a pile of salt. All over-priced. Overall the menu and wine list could use an update. The service was good. I've been to many places in Dublin. I won't return here unless someone tells me they've done a major refresh.

                                                            We had a great lunch and the service was good. Wine over priced as with all the restaurants in the area. But it would be nice to go back to the 80s when you could drop in get a drink ?? Not happening now. We’ve lost a great Dublin pub!!

                                                            Another great visit today . It was for my birthday and having had a great experience last time , I decided to choose here again . I was not disappointed ! I requested a specific table when I booked and I was delighted that I was seated there . As I’d only booked on Monday , I didn’t know if it would be possible. Food was lovely , 2 of us had the double smash burger which was flavoursome , tender and very big ! The other person had the steak ciabatta , which again was full of flavour cooked perfectly and filling . Cannot fault the food here , always fresh hot and tasty and generous potions . Great value too . Lovely ambience , nice background music but not too loud. I didn’t get our servers name , but she was polite , friendly and very helpful as we had a minor request with one of our meals which she got just right Will be back again . Highly recommend this place
