Chef Oz was great! Extremely talented, made incredible dishes. My husband and I are pescatarians and asked Chef to make us dishes that he felt we would enjoy. They were beyond our expectations. We will be back for sure!!

This place is always outstanding. Every dish is made with incredible attention to presentation and taste . And the sangria - wow . You gotta have more than one glass ... I don’t know what’s in that stuff ! It’s one of our favorite date night spots . We’ll be back chef !

The food was delicious once it arrived. However, the proprietor was not appreciative that I was a party of one. The pours of wine were barely 4 ounces and overpriced, and the wait for two empanadas was 45 minutes. Overall, I felt fairly ignored and unwelcome. While I tipped 20%, I will not be going back.

Hello, Juliet. I believe there was definitely some disconnect on your last visit to Cueva Bar. I remember you having a good time everytime you visited before. This time around I was actually happy to see you since we haven't seen some of our regulars since COVID-19 came down. They say perception is everything. Regarding the wine pours we serve standard industry of 6 ounces. As to the empanadas, I know I can't change your mind about how long they took but they certainly didn't take 45 minutes to come. You did keep ordering in stages instead of ordering all at once, this means your staggered orders were put in between the other orders from the customers seating outside. About our interaction. I don't usually visit tables of my guests when they seem they're fine by themselves staring at their phone or reading a book. I like to give my guests some distance. Every time I walked outside to check on other guests I asked if you were doing ok to which you replied yes with a big smile. Also, due to COVID I am not supposed to be visiting your table that often. Not sure we will see you again but I'd love for a second chance to host you again and try to make it better.

Whenever we have a family member volunteer to watch our daughter, this is our go-to place for our dinner date. We enjoyed every dish that we order whenever we go there. The sangria is very yummy. It’s not as sweet as most sangria. The pour is about 5 ounces, no ice or fruit so it makes it look like you didn’t get that much. However, after a couple, you’ll start to feel very happy. The other wines are good too. The prices are not cheap and portions are small (since they are tapas), but the preparation of the food is well thought out and well prepared. Go and enjoy your date night out without the kiddos.

The bartender, Oz, was very friendly and knowledgeable about the drinks and menu. We enjoyed our beers and sangria, and the 6 different tapas. Quick service. I love this place. I’ll be back with more friends.

Be advised: Reservations might get you a seat at the bar. We made a reservation for 4 ppl about 45 min. before we arrived. Even though there was a 4-seat table open, we were forced to sit at the corner of the bar. Why? "There was a 4-seat reservation for 30 minutes later that had been made a couple days in advance". The bartender claimed that the other reservation had specifically requested a table - perhaps they had made the same mistake we did, not specifying they wanted a table their first go around. But how? There isn't an option on Open Table when making a reservation? Isn't that the whole point of making a reservation? To be sat at a table? There were two gentleman working the bar/dining area that evening. One of them was wearing sweat pants or pajama bottoms. The other gentleman, who took our order, sat on the customer side of the bar after our drinks were made, and returned to service when the bill was presented. My dads beer had blotches of tiny bubbles on the inside of the glass, well below the head, or "froth" a normal beer has, which indicates soap residue. The food was fine and we escaped for about $45/person. Overall it wasn't a good experience. I wont be going back, or recommending this to a friend.

    1. It is obvious you weren't happy to seat at the table and that affected your whole experience. 2. To pick on the clothing our staff wears sounds a little personal and unnecessary. 3. The gentleman that sat at the bar did so because he needed to take a break. 4. The reservation that sat at the table came through a couple of days before yours so we must honour a first-come, first-serve basis. 5. We share with you the information about the situation and you and your family decided to stay.

The food was good. But other than the empanadas, I thought it was forgettable/mediocre. But, the empanadas were fantastic and I may forever dream about them. So I highly recommend for the empanadas, but felt most of the other options were mediocre. The spot is cool and cozy too.
