   We went there for our anniversary. My husband and I both had the steak omakase with 7 cuts of beef including A5 Waygu beef. It was so delicious!

   Went for a late weekend lunch. Hostesses at the door had me wait in the lobby for the rest of my guests to arrive while suggesting other guests to enter and enjoy a cocktail at the bar. Perhaps suggesting I too should wait at the bar would have been more up the a One Michelin star type service. While at the bar, cocktails were very nice. We were urged to be seated even though we were still enjoying our cocktails. Our server, though was very good, did make us feel pressured by upselling the most expencive manu items. Service seemed rushed because they were wanting to set up for dinner service. $600.00 for lunch for 3, $30.00 for a "Waygu fried rice with maybe 3 pieces of tiny beef seemed excessive.

   We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and all the servers wished us congratulations or said something in regard to the special occasion. The team service is great here and Ryan, the sommelier, spent a fair amount of time with us in recommending drinks (his communication skills are A+). Our 2 servers were knowledgeable but they immediately expressed their dissatisfaction with guests ordering the Butcher’s feast chef’s tasting. They questioned us (and the couple sitting at a table next to us) as to why we are ordering that instead of other menu items and made us feel like we were doing something wrong. This was our first time there so we relied on reviews to help us prepare our visit; many suggested the Butcher’s feast. If in fact ordering other a la carte items gives you a better tasting dish, I would suggest the servers at Cote find a better and more amicable way to steer guests in that direction than make them feel small. Unfortunately, this is what we’ll equally remember with how delicious the wagyu beef tasted.
