Happy Easter! Decided to try the Cork and Batter. First of all I’m already a fan because they serve Bud Light and Diet Coke. I won’t go to a restaurant if they don’t have one or the other. My party ordered a wide variety of food, from baby back ribs, the pasta primavera, Caesar salad with shrimp, and the pastrami sandwich with onion rings, too many sides to mention and of course the pecan pie a la mode. The food was nicely presented. The service was fast and the server was very very nice. I’m sorry I don’t have her name but she did not leave me with an empty glass I always had Bud Light and she was on top of re filling the Diet Coke and margaritas. I’ve heard the prices mentioned in other reviews but I think they were fair. The prices are listed on line, so there’s no guessing. We had a very pleasant time. I’m not a country music enthusiast but the music added to the ambiance and wasn’t overwhelming. It was a very nice time and I’m sure we will be back soon.

Fantastic food. Wonderful servers and bus boys. Seating arrangements such as tables could be a little bigger because of the size of the tray of food that is served. Felt a little smashed if you order the sampler meals. Will definitely try again.

I expected a new Simi restaurant to have a little bit of an identity crisis, and that was true here. The decor, ambiance, and menu were all vaguely Southern or South Western or American or something else entirely. The real disappointment was the food. Grainy queso and bbq that was nothing special. I even had to ask for bbq sauce. I have spent far less for far better at Wood Ranch and Red’s. Was excited to try this spot since it’s been so busy and popular but it was a big let down.

Restaurant looks nice, modern and Aesthetically pleasing. Atmosphere is ok for what it is. Has a real Simi Valley vibe to it. Atmosphere is a key factor for why people go dine outside of the area. It could be more diverse and lively. Most importantly, the Food is mediocre. For it to be a smokehouse, I would expect more flavorful food. Brisket was dry, Mac and cheese was decent, but that dirty rice was terrible. Rice a roni is much more flavorful and not as dry. Brussel Sprouts are pretty good. Banana pudding was decent. I prefer traditional banana pudding, but it was decent. Overall, needs to work on the atmosphere and tighten up in the kitchen. Flavor and quality need work.

Great tasting BarBQ. Service was so-so as they forgot our side salad, couldn't list what salad dressings they had available, we had to ask for refills as no one really checked back once we ordered, and had to ask for our table to be cleared between dinner and dessert. I assume it's because they are new and still working out the service kinks. We'll try back in a few months as we don't live in the area and had made a special trip to Simi Valley just to check it out. Great Bar-B-Q!

Great tasting BBQ, complemented with outstanding service. Poor dining ambience. Over illuminated, crowded seating and too noisy. No need to hear every tables conversation while enjoying our meal.

I have been here 3x so far the food is really good.. tonite service was lacking.. never asked how we were doing forgot most of the items we asked for.. no one ever offered more water.. at one point music got really loud, which to me it’s not a club I don’t want to shout at the people I’m with.. the wine prices for 6 oz is kind of ridiculous .. I was told they will be having happy hour starting in April.. the hostess automatically thought my friend was with a certain group when asked if they were waiting for someone because of her color.. tonite wasn’t the better of my 3x experience

I loved the baby back ribs. There is apricot sauce that is fabulous, just ask for that bottle and they’ll bring it to your table. We really enjoyed the guacamole and chips. A nice portion. It needs a little bump of spice. I’m sure you can get maybe hot sauce or a sprinkle of pepper flakes. I loved playing pool after we ordered. It is a fun happening place. If it’s too noisy for you they have a back room which is quieter, but liked the excitement. Also they have really good potato salad.

This was a truly great experience. Even though the restaurant was packed, we were seated right away. The service was excellent. The food was remarkably tasty. Try the nachos! The ambiance was great, very high class with great touches. The general manager came by and chatted with us. Then he asked my kids if they like ribs and gave them a free rib platter to go!
