   Signed up for the Mothers Day take over of Bourbon Street. Don’t realize it at the time but it turned out to be that Corazon was operating out of the Bourbon Street bar/pub. Atmosphere was typical bar, low lighting, loud music, and lots of high tops. Wasn’t what I was expecting and could have been advertised better to prevent confusion (I overheard many other parties have the same reaction) but was something we could live with. For a Mothers Day event I would have expected more standard seating and not high tops, which led to a wait well past our reservation time due to having to wait for a booth seat as we had children who could not be seated at a high top. However, what was most disappointing was the actual food and drinks. Based on Yelp, Corazon has a 4.4 star rating which is what’s we were expecting but the actual food turned out to be completely different despite having the same names. The two margaritas we had tasted like a typical bar margarita, heavy handed on the alcohol with minimal flavor although the flavored green sugar on the rim was good. The salsa was dehydrated with minimal flavor and looked completely different from the yelp pictures. The same for the El Tamal, which tasted decent but did not look anything like the yelp pictures. Overall a disappointing experience and one that makes me hesitant to visit the main restaurant, which I was interested in until this experience.

   It was a pop up so maybe it’s not their regular kitchen and they did not have command of the front of house. For Mother’s Day the kitchen was sluggish and overall food was not amazing for a Mexican restaurant. The sea bass chilequiles was drowned in sauce and I couldn’t taste the fish. My chicken enchiladas had too much big slices of onions and not enough chicken. It really didn’t taste as good as a traditional chicken enchilada. Gotta step it up. Or no return customers.

   Really weird location - the restaurant they were using is actually a different bar/grill in Fullerton. Supposedly they’re opening a new location but it’s not ready yet so they rented a space at bourbons which is like a dive bar/restaurant. Vibes were weird it was dark, dim, music was way way too loud especially for a mothers day brunch. We got moved to the outside patio after I said I didn’t want my family of 5 to sit at 4 top next to the bar. Because this is not their main kitchen, timing of when food was delivered was alllll over the place. My moms plate came out first and then probably 25 minutes later the rest of our food came. Husband and I ordered fajitas and the menu said it would come out on a sizzling plate as it normally does. Well it didn’t and it came out cold? I saw a few tables also be duped by the description and were surprised to see the actual set up of the restaurant. Some left and tbh we should have as well. For how overly expensive the food was + service being slow for mid food, I regret taking my family here. It was very unclear how this experience was going to be and probably not a fit for the typical experience they give in their brea location. At the end of the day the business needed a revenue stream to capitalize on Mother’s Day but executed it poorly.

   Mother’s Day brunch was ok. The food was just ok. Steak was super fatty. They were however able to accommodate any special requests which was nice.

   Pros Place and ambience is fantastic Our server did the best to pivot and accomadate our requests . Staff was friendly and had a great energy . Food was a 8/10 Drinks had generous pours Presentation of food was nice Steak and eggs was probably the best dish there Cons Mothers day menu items Not available ( based our reservation on this ) both wife and mother did not get the dish they had requested so this was an inconvience . Place is joint with a Bourbon bar Requested some of the higher quality whiskey alchohols to be told they were not available . Overall I would give this place another chance but avoid coming for special occasions

   Food was HORRIBLE. not much effort put into plates. Enchilada sauce was from a can. Chiptole salmos sauce looked like it came from a can as well. Not legit mexican food.
