Night out with friends. Great service, lovely food & a lovely setting. Really good cocktails too!

Not as good as first visit. Food minimalistic and chips not hot or crispy. Was a meal deal on a voucher but quality should still have been up to standard.

The reception desk is on the ground floor was unattended so we walked up a flight to the bar where the staff seemed surprised to see customers. After we were finally seated the service was acceptable but certainly not up to the prices charged. The menu is VERY limited. Just seven mains one of which was fish and chips ... hardly our idea of fine dinning. The lobster and steak were wildly overpriced. Nothing we had was bad, but nothing was really that good, considering the prices. All in all, one the least memorable meals we had over a week in Edinburgh. Considering all the fine choices in Old Town, I would not suggest Victor & Carina Contini's Cannonball Restaurant.

First visit and most enjoyable; particularly with the unexpected 'Earth Hour' candlelit dinner! Food and wine excellent. Especially enjoyable to have pre dinner drinks in the restaurant's atmospheric bar.

Good food, small portions though. Quite dark in there, for some people definitely too dark for reading the menu, service quite slow and for the prices you pay not very well trained

I took my wife for valentines day a date had a wonderful dinner. It is a lovely restaurant in an amazing location and building, plus the staff and food were exceptional. I would highly reccomend it and will definitely be returning.
